My Performance
Focused on: Differentiating the characteristics and needs of learners from different developmental levels.
Task Observation/ Documentation: Exemplary (4) All tasks were done with outstanding quality; work exceeds expectations Analysis questions were answered completely; in depth answers; thoroughly grounded on theories/exemplary grammar and spelling. Reflection statements are profound and clear, supported by experiences from the episode. Portfolio is complete, clear, well-organized and all supporting documentation are located in sections clearly designated. Before deadline Superior (3) All or nearly all tasks were done with high quality Analysis questions were answered completely Clear connection with theories Grammar and spelling are superior Reflection statements are clear; but not clearly supported by experiences from the episode. Portfolio is complete, clear, well-organized and most supporting documentations are available and/or in logical and clearly marked locations. On the deadline Satisfactory (2) Nearly all tasks were done with acceptable quality Analysis questions were not answered completely. Vaguely related to the theories Grammar and spelling acceptable Reflection statements are shallow, supported by experiences from the episode. Unsatisfactory (1) Fewer than half of tasks were done; or most objectives met but with poor quality Analysis questions were not answered. Grammar and spelling unsatisfactory Reflection statements are unclear and shallow and are not supported by experiences from the episode.

Learners Development Matrix Development Domain Physical Gross-motor skills Preschooler Indicate age range of children observed: 4-5 They do love running and playing most of the time. They are not conscious on how they will walk or run. They are very childish and still act as of their age. Elementary Indicate age range of children observed: 6-12 Grades one to three are just partly similar to those preschoolers. However when they reach grades four to six, some become partly conscious about their way of walking and going up the stairs. They started to learn the basic writing and drawing and develop it through the guidance of teachers. Their drawings are partly real and their writings are in progress to cursive. High School Indicate age range of children observed: 13-16 It is a point of time that they are still undecided if they will act as a child or a teenager one. Some do their fine walking and going up the stairs however, some still act as childish as how they are in elementary days. Upon having experience from preschool and elementary, they now master the writing and drawing skills however, still errors are happening during this stage.

Fine-motor skills

Preschoolers commonly on their stage of emergent writing and drawing wherein they are more on scribbling. They draw things which are still hard to notice. And their writing seems to be a scratch.

They are flexible in a way that they do not choose who will be their friends. For primary grades whos they are seated with will suddenly become their friends. As they step on the higher level of grades, they started to build friendship who can adopt on their nature and interests. command and respect them but not like how devoted those elementary students are. Commonly, whos they are seated with is primarily their groups of friends. At high school especially to those public schools, seating arrangement is not merely giving emphasis so that they can freely choose who will be their seatmates. Grouping of companions is basically seen at this stage. Living in advanced technology world, students in high school nowadays are being engaged with technologies such as using cellphones, playing online games and using networking sites which sometimes affects their school performances.

Interaction with classmates/friends

Upon entering the school for the first time, they are still on the process of adjustment. They treat their peers as just their playmates and competition does not yet exist.

Interests

Being at this stage of four and five, obviously, they are still more on playing, rather than having a serious and formal discussion of lesson.

They are still engage with playing games but slowly, the discussion of lesson was being incorporated. It was through teaching the basic education for elementary students.

feelings easily cry most especially when they dont get what they want. They are very expressive in their happiness or sadness. If they are happy or frustrated, no matter when or where it is, they will express it as long as they want. They are also in the process of developing their self-esteem and self-confidence. very good complainant of even little things or manners. Mood shifts is also their primary attitude. They can hide their emotions and act as brave as they can. They are somewhat responsible with their own emotions and feelings. Emotional stability is developing in this stage. They learn to live the life through reflecting to their own disposition in handling struggling and happy moments of their life.

Emotional independence

Through their own experiences and interaction with environment, they are beginning to develop their selfconsciousness. Their feelings of happiness, sadness and frustration are moderately been managed through teachers guidance. As the teachers teach, they learn how to communicate others. Gradually, they learn how to use proper words and how they will be able to communicate ideas suitably.

Cognitive Communication Skills

Their way of communicating ideas to other rely on what they seen on their environment. They are not that proficient in using language.

At this stage, they are being equipped to be able to be a competent person in the society. And one of the vital factors to attain this is to mold students in their communication skills. They become proficient in using the language and how they will be able to convey their own ideas. Comprehension and understanding is essential for high school teaching PAGE | 4

Thinking skills

comprehend as long as they are not motivated to learn. So, it is a requisite for the teachers to arouse their interest first, and then let them think on their own. Problem-solving They find it hard to solve even small problems and still needed to have the guidance of the teachers. They are slightly able to find solutions to a problem that arise but preferred to rely on the teachers way of solution. them colorful visual aids materials and provide them interesting way of delivering the topics, you will then inspire them to at least participate in the discussion. environment. Students are able to comprehend the text and elaborate them in a more creative way.

They comprehend and understand thing thats why they are capable to solve those problems more independently than those primary pupils.

From this, teachers should teach the students to appreciate education and live by its importance in their lives. Consequently, teachers should learn what complaint should be heard and answer their questions. Therefore, teachers should let them be sensible in their own existence and let them feel the essence of education in their life after graduating high school.

It is a transition of being a child and teenager so they are confuse on which period they belong. They suddenly become conscious about the things around him.

My Reflections When I was at my preschool days, I remembered that I am very childish as what they are today. I love playing but I am a very shy type child. I remembered that I used to cry when my mother left me at my classroom because I dont want her to be out of my sight. When I was in my elementary, Im just an ordinary student wherein going to school is just a part of my daily routine in life. I dont even felt how education is important in that time. I played with my friends yet Im not that competitive like how children are now today. As I entered my high school days, Im still confused if I am still a child or already a maiden. I refined my way of walking, dressing and talking yet like them, there comes a time that nature of being child becomes dominant. Like other students, I also felt the existence of competition between my peers during this time especially in academic matters. Academic achievement is really important to me that time because that the only thing that I can do to make my parents happy and proud to me. Additionally, what maybe my dissimilarity among others is that even I am in my high school days, I already thinking on how I will get scholarships to at least continue my schooling and achieve my dream which is really to be an educator. They are not that in favor with my preferred course, so on how they will interpret my final grade will only be the way for me to convince them. On the other hand, I admit that I learned a lot from my former teachers in elementary and high school. Some trained me how to write, read and count.

Some taught me positively yet some are negatively. But what is still remaining on my mind is that on how my former grade three teacher taught me in a very extraordinary way. Mrs. Virginia Guinto, former adviser of grade three-A choose to join me, together with my classmates, Jessa Anne Rabago and Bernadette Baran, at MTAP Quiz Bee held at Jose P. Laurel Memorial School (JRMS Central I) at Calamba City. As the result was given, we are so shocked when she was so angry to us. She always scolded us in front of the class and her colleagues and we found out that, according to her, we got zero score from the said competition. Ang bobobo ninyo naman is one of the cruel words that I personally heard from her. I preferred not to tell that to my parent and I cried every night because Im sure that I dont deserve those words and I know that I have my correct answers with the given set of questions. Im very afraid to go to school that time until my mother knew it with some parents. Maybe, thats the primary reason why I dont trust myself in joining any curricular activities at school. However, nowadays, I realized that that experience should serve as my stepping stone to prove to them that I was once been rejected but now taking courage to at least be part of the profession who will mold young minds. It serves as my lesson to understand how is that feel and not let my students to sense what I had experienced. Despite, my gratitude and respect is still being given to her until this point of time. Not all the time, negative experience will lead to positive learning. There are students that once been embarrassed, will not pursue on achieving his goals in life. So teachers should be careful on how he will let the students to learn and how they will develop students knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to be a productive people of the dynamic society. It should always take into consideration that what youve said or done to the students, will greatly impact them and will retain in their minds. How the teachers influence students will be the determinant on how he became an effective or worst implementer of learning.

MY PORTFOLIO Which is your favorite theory of development? How can this guide you as a future teacher? PAGE | 7

Clip some readings about this theory and paste them here. Psychologist Albert Bandura proposed what is known as social learning theory. According to this theory of child development, children learn new behaviors from observing other people. Unlike behavioral theories, Bandura believed that external reinforcement was not the only way that people learned new things. Instead, intrinsic reinforcements such as a sense of pride, satisfaction and accomplishment could also lead to learning. By observing the actions of others, including parents and peers, children develop new skills and acquire new information. -Kendra Cherry http://psychology.about.com/od/ developmentalpsychology/a/chil ddevtheory.htm

Social learning theory is classified as behavioral theory in which the behavior of the stimuli can be affected and modified according to its observation in the environment. Everything that the child seen and observe could actually lead them to learning. This theory will be beneficial and essential guide in my future teaching in dealing with individual differences and how to direct learning to them. Varied behaviors could be observe and contract with but learning could still be effective through using and applying intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in the class. Even without formal lesson, the students can learn by their own reflection in the environment. A print- rich environment will also play its important role in letting the students to be educated in their own.
