Spelling Practice for Home

List 8 Long Vowel /e/ spelled ee, ea.

Rule: Double Vowel: Most long vowel sounds need two letters. If one part of a word or syllable has 2 vowels, the first vowel usually stands for the long sound, and the second vowel is silent. Exception: /ea/ can have two sounds; long /e/ as in speak, short /e/ as in head.

This is a hands-on approach to spelling. First, practice making words with the sounds of letters.
