Organizations involved by Malaysia

Maphilindo - formed between Malaysia Philippines and Indonesia - formed to improve the relationship between these countries - formed to solve the dispute between the countries due to formation of Malaysia - forced to end Maphilindo because Philippines still claims Sabah as its state and Presiden Soekoarno claims Malaysia as a form of neokolonialisme

ASEAN - Association of Southeast Asian Nation was formed in Bangkok in 1967 through the Bangkok Declaration - Founding nations are Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand - Objectives are to maintain the stability of politic, help other countries in the fields of economy, social, and culture, improve the lives of the people through the cooperation in agricultural and industry. - It does not involves itself in internal affairs or politics of its member nations

Organization of Islamic was established in Morocco in 1969 Main objectives are to strengthen the relationship between the Islamic countries, maintain the peace in the Islamic countries and to protect the holy Islamic places This organization helps by sending medical support to Lubnan and Afghanistan, money support to the less developed Islamic countries such as Sudan and Nigeria and also established Islamic Development Bank

The Commonwealth - An organization formed between Britain and its former colonies. - Objectives are to improve the friendship between the countries and form cooperation in all the fields - It does not have an official charter or constitution and the members are free in their own internal or external or external affairs.

NAM - Non-Alligned Movement is a movement of 115 countries representing the interests and priorities of developing countries - Objectives are to adopt an independent policy, to support for national independence, to refrain from conceding military bases to a foreign power

United Nations - The United Nation (UN) was set up in 1945 in San Francisco after the second World War - Main objectives are to preserve world peace and security, to encourage social, economic, and cultural cooperation among the nations of the world, and to protect the basic rights of the people regardless of race, religion and culture - Malaysia was a non permanent member of UN Security Council in 1965 and 1989 - Formed World Bank to help the countries which are still developing especially in money and investment and to end poverty in the countries
