Narrative:

I think that it is very important for teachers to be a part of the purchasing process in their classrooms. We are the ones that will be utilizing the technology so we know what we need and what we do not need. It is especially important for teachers to be educated on the technology that they will need though. With knowledge of the technology the teachers will be able to more

efficiently run their classrooms. If teachers are truly involved in the decision making process money could be saved instead of wasted on materials that are not needed. If teachers are not involved then money may be spent on material that is not needed. If the school decides to give every teacher the same technology materials then they could be wasting money and inhibiting the learning experiences for the students. For example I chose to make my budget for my middle school math classroom. I do not need a bunch of technology I need the basics and some software programs. I knew that I would need a well-equipped computer so that is why I chose the one that I did. I started out with a cheaper one but I realized that if I am only going to have one computer in my classroom then I need one that will last and that has plenty of memory with a good processor. In conclusion, teachers will be the ones using the technology so it is important for them to be a part of the decision making process.
