Unlimited Space: Using this concept we can boot it from the HardDisk,so that we can get more space Steps for Booting Raspbian from USB Disk Step 1: Download your Raspbian image file from the http://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads Steps for Porting an image file to the SD card click here. Step 2: Minimun size of the USB Disk should be 2GB(I am using 4GB Pendrive).Format your USB Disk with FAT 32 format.Port an Raspbian OS to the USB Disk as per the same step 1. Step 3: Open your SD card and the edit the file cmdline.txt. Open the file and change the path from root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 to root=/dev/sda2 mmcblk0p2 is the default path of the SD card and sda2 is the path of your flash drive.
Step 4: Now everthing is done and pop both your SD card and USB Disk to your Raspberry Pi.It starts booting. If you want to confirm whether it is booting from USB Disk ,just remove the SD card from the board after two minutes. It will still remains the same, you can access your Raspbian.
