Phil. Statement 2

To Be or Not To Be The philosophy in the book that best describes my personality is progressivism. There are aspects within that philosophy that are pertinent such as teaching students about everyday life outside of school and in the real world. Students have the right to know what they need to know to survive in the real world and to support themselves and their families. It is essential to know what goes on in reality. Such as bills, financials, debt, governmental roles, etc. If a student doesnt know these things, then they will struggle once high school ends. Its a hard lesson to learn the hard way when one is in debt or struggling to scrape by because they were never taught how to properly manage their financials. According to my philosophical beliefs, all schools should teach budgeting financials and government roles. This would allow students to be more responsible with their money and keep up to date with the government events, so they dont struggle after school ends. The philosophy states that its an educational philosophy that emphasizes real-world problem solving and individual development, which will help students solve their real-world problems to have the ability to make responsible decisions. The teachers role is to teach real-world problem solving and individual development according to the progressivism philosophy. This means that teachers teach their students to make real decisions thatll affect them outside of school and they teach them which decision is the best one to make and why. However, the students role is to understand and know the importance of their choices and decisions in the real world, which is clearly obvious from the progressivism philosophy.

Phil. Statement 3

I learn best by hands on and real world problems. I have discovered certain concepts about my learning styles and they are as follows: subjects and topics seem to stick in my brain better if they relate to the real world and benefit me in some way. Subject material should be taught using the progressivism philosophy so students can learn more and go father in depth in topics and discussions by playing out certain scenarios and seeing with their own eyes how things can go wrong if they dont do things a certain way. This should be partially decided by the student, due to their interests and partially by the teacher, due to her curriculum. Therefore, the progressivism philosophy or certain aspects of several are important to the governance of my life. When I see things with my own eyes, it sticks better in my memory so I know what to do and what not to do. Students in the younger generations have the right to see what happens when high school is over and should be taught how to plan accordingly by practicing in schools.
