126.6. Technology Applications, Kindergarten-Grade 2, Beginning with School Year 2012-2013. Section B.1 (C) Creativity and innovation. The student uses creative thinking and innovative processes to construct knowledge and develop digital products. The student is expected to: (C) explore virtual environments, simulations, models, and programming languages to enhance learning.
Objective (Explicit):

Students will be able to identify numbers 1-5 after repeating them when learning lesson using SMART board.
Evidence of Mastery (Measurable):

Include a copy of the lesson assessment. Provide exemplar student responses with the level of detail you expect to see. Assign value to each portion of the response Sub-objectives:

I will go over previously learned numbers 1-5 with students by opening with them singing their numbers song using a video on the SMART board. Students are familiar with this song because they sing it every morning in circle time. For students to master content, I will have them trace over numbers after the lesson so they will be able to identify them better. This objective is relative to students because they will need to know their numbers as they advance in their education.
Sub-objectives, SWBAT (Sequenced from basic to complex):

How will you review past learning and make connections to previous lessons? What skills and content are needed to ultimately master this lesson objective? How is this objective relevant to students, their lives, and/or the real world? Materials (Including Technology Tools):

Smart Board, Computer, Numbers to 5 SMART board activity, laminated numbers to trace on.
The Technology Tools Should Have:

Visuals that establish the purpose of the lesson, preview the organization of the lesson, and include internal summaries of the lesson. Examples, illustrations, analogies, and labels for new concepts and ideas. Logical sequencing and segmenting. All essential information and no irrelevant, confusing, or nonessential information. Incorporate multimedia and technology.

Activity: Numbers to 5 Opening (state objectives, connect to previous learning, and make relevant to real life)

How will you activate student interest? How will you connect to past learning? How will you present the objective in an engaging and student-friendly way? How will you communicate its importance and make the content relevant to your students?

To open the activity, I will ask the students if they want to sing their numbers song and then I will play the numbers song that the students sing every morning during circle time on the SMART board. I will show students the number flashcards to activate their schema. I will invite each student up to

participate in the SMART board activity and let them drag the dots on the the board and ask them to repeat the number after completing the activity.
Teacher Will: Student Will:

How will you model/explain/demonstrate all knowledge/skills required of the objective? How will you address misunderstandings or common student errors? How will you check for understanding? How will you explain and model behavioral expectations?

What will students be doing to actively capture and process the new material? How will students be engaged?

I, the teacher will demonstrate the use of the SMART board numbers to 5 application touching the dots and moving the correct amount to the spot where they belong. Sub-Objective To check for understanding, I will have each student repeat each number to me. I will assist the students with going up to the SMART board and moving the correct quantity of dots to the right space. To model behavioral expectations, I will show students how to touch the board and move the dots to the correct spot.
The Technology Tools should:

Students will go up to the board individually when showing good behavior to participate in the SMART board numbers to 5 activity. I will have the students repeat the number to me and then have them touch the number to make sure they comprehend the numbers identity.

Support the lesson objectives. Sustain students attention. Provide time for reflection. Are relevant to students lives. Induce student curiosity and suspense. Incorporate multimedia and technology. Incorporate resources beyond the school curriculum texts.

Closing/Student Reflection/Real-life connections:

How will students summarize and state the significance of what they learned? Why will students be engaged?

After the lesson on the smart board, I will bring out number flashcards to see if students can identify the numbers outside of using the SMART board. Students will be engaged because I will ask each student to identify the number they did on the SMART board activity.
