Exhibit: Lab Science Picture Benchmark: Academic Skills: Top Science Works

In my freshman year I took the class Lab Science. This class was a way to prepare students on how to make lab experiments and write full reports. Towards the end of the class we had form groups and make an experiment involving something to do with food. I and my group did an experiment testing the viscosity of butter cream frosting at different temperatures by timing how long it took for it to slide down a tipped pan. This experiment consisted of a week of testing and two weeks of forming a report out of it following the scientific method. It was as if we were real scientist making our own report, because we were allowed little help from our teacher Mr. Green. We had to make our own hypothesis and form our own conclusion. The testing consisted of many trials and also many errors. By the time we were finished our final lab report was over ten pages! This report gave me a good idea of how it feels to be a real scientist. This was good for me to see, on account of me wanting to be an astronomer or organic chemist. And if I will be a scientist I need to be prepared to do lab experiments my whole life without help from a superior and the all the work is made by me and my colleagues. To do a lab experiment you must follow a lab procedure. In real life on a daily basis you may follow a procedure. Examples may be: filling your car, cooking with a stove, cleaning a firearm. Lab Science was a great class to help prepare me for my future life in science.
