I am

By: Tristan Swartout

My name is Tristan Swartout; I am the son of Laura and Tyler Swartout. I am 17, going on 18, with my birthday being October 1st, 1995. I have a younger sister named Talia, who is 13. I also have three cats named: Tasha, Rocky, and Orion. I have just started my senior year at Hanover-Horton High School. I have being on Snowfest Court once. When finished with my senior year, I will go to Jackson College for two years to get my main courses out of the way. I then plan on going to Michigan State University, Western University, or Lake Superior State University to get my masters in Biology and Chemistry and possibly astronomy. For careers I hope for jobs here listed: Biochemist, astrochemist, zoologist, biologist, chemist, organic chemist, and astrobiology. I am Catholic and go to mass every week. When I started high school I also began to do sports. I am on my third year of cross country and will start my fourth year of track in the spring. Ive ran on varsity cross country my whole time and even ran in the state meet. Im also a member of the National Honor Society, and also in the Boy Scouts with the rank of Eagle Scout (highest rank possible). I have been to many interesting places through my last few years. I have being to the island national park Isle Royale, Grand Island National Recreational Area, rural Ontario, and may places throughout the rest of Michigan. From my multiple hobbies I have gained many traits and attributes. As a middle school student I was considered a quiet kid. I would only talk with my friends and would probably be considered even boring to them. I would also consider myself weird when I was social in middle school. But when I hit eight grade I hit a stage of change. I became very social; soon I was considered loud and funny to many fellow classmates. I then joined track and cross country

and got a leadership role. I then got into NHS and help every fundraiser and participate in all float building and hall decorating. I believe boy scouts was the cause of my sudden re-birth. Boy scouts taught me how to be a leader and how to be a respected leader. I also got much practice in communicating in large public crowds because of scouts. I also learned to help anyone in need, or as we say in scouts Do a Good Turn Daily. I learned to be clean-minded, respectable, reverent, brave and many more traits. In cross country, my coach Mr. Blackledge has taught me much also. He taught me to never give up and never be negative and always look at the positives because it will get you much farther. Now Im not afraid to speak open about an opinion. If a group needs a leader I will lead it. Now when I hear negative comments I tell the one who said it to look towards the positives in life. Because of scouts and motivational people around me; I am a changed man and hope to continue to help the world be a better place. To continue on the subject of personality, I was curious to see my results of a personality test. I got the results ENFJ. To clarify this acronym it means Extrovert iNtuitive Feeling and Judging. To clarify this meaning of words, extrovert means Im a highly sociable person. Intuitive means I have high knowledge without acquiring it completely. And I have lots of feelings for others. And for judging Im not afraid to judge against something I oppose. Many famous people are claimed to have this personality result as well. A few famous individuals are: Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr., Ronald Reagan, and Joseph Goebbels. I was very pleased with these results and shocked at the accuracy of the test. ENFJs are called The Giver, Teacher and Idealist, usually because of their constant objective of helping others and push to help educate ones I need. This is very accurate, because I constantly try to help others to the best of my ability, just like boy scouts say Do a good turn daily. I love the feeling of knowing I made someones day better by maybe the simplest of things. Mr. Bs famous quotes of saying

Be Good and Everydays a good day, some are just better than others! have helped also push me to keep a positive attitude and make sure people have a positive look towards the day. These views I just stated is exactly what ENFJs push for everyday. I hope that these skills will get me far in life, but my education should as well. I got a 23 on the ACT and plan on retaking it soon. Every year I have achieved a GPA of 3.8 or higher. As a sophomore I took Chemistry and gained my fond love of it! With my high academics and mental strengths I hope will take me far in life to achieve my goals of the future and achieve even more than I dont even know of yet.

I now finish by giving you a thing to think about. From my view on life; life isnt a test or a process. It is an unexpected adventure, something new around every corner. So never believe something is impossible always go for it because unexpected events and your determination can let you achieve those goals. And always remember Everydays a good day, some are just better than others! so dont go around saying this day is awful, something will come and make this day greater than it already is! So I will help people whenever possible, have a positive view on every day and always look upon my life goals because anything is possible when you have a strong mentality!
