Nuclear power

By Rishik Janaswamy In this world there are many types of energy sources. One of the leading types is fossil fuels which can cause a carbon and greenhouses gasses. So, many people around the world are gathering more information reliable sources. One of those sources is Nuclear Power.
Did you know that nuclear accidents can wipe out full towns?

How does nuclear power work?

Every atom has energy trapped in its nucleus. There are two ways of harnessing that energy. The first type is a proses called Nuclear fission. Nuclear fission splits the nuclei of the atoms and releases energy. The other Way of harnessing the nuclear energy is called Nuclear Fusion. In nuclear fusion atoms are joined to make energy.

How is nuclear power harnessed (Nuclear fission)? Uranium atoms are mined in fuel rods . The fuel rods are put in the water. The uranium atoms split the other uranium atoms which causes a chain of reactions which then heats the water . Then the water becomes steam and the steam produces electricity.

A Nuclear power plant can produce approximately 11.8 billion kilowatts

Advantages and disadvantages of nuclear energy Nuclear energy does not need a lot of space to reduce electricity. Also there is a lot of uranium in the earth which is equaling to 16,00 tons of coal. However Nuclear energy makes Nuclear waste which is radioactive and is very expensive to get rid of because you have to dis pose it in a very safe way. Also nuclear accidents happen when the atoms go out of control and blast causing radioactive ways to harm the environment.

Why we should use nuclear energy? We should use nuclear power because it does not produce carbon emissions. And it is very reliable it can work no matter what the weather or wherever you are. Furthermore nuclear power can produce a lot of energy .It can produce 11.8 billion kilowatts of electricity . Finely nuclear power plants Dont requ ire a lot of space.

How was nuclear power discovered? When the famous scientist Albert Einstein Discovered E=mc2 (energy =matter and speed of light squared) the German party (Nazi party) took that equation and made a weapon(nuclear bomb) out of the power of the atom. Then Einstein wrote a letter to the American president about the nuclear bomb. Then the American president asked if Einstein could make a nuclear bomb. Einstein made a nuclear bomb. After the world war 2 was finished Being as smart as he was he made energy out of an atom (nuclear energy).

When Einstein discovered e=mc2. Hitler took that equation and made a bomb out of it.

As powerful as Nuclear Power is, it can still help reduce greenhouse gases and the carbon footprint. It helps reduce fossil fuel emissions. Nuclear Energy enables us to lead a better sustainable life. Citations:
