ICT Integration Project Joint Statement The ICT Integration Project invites us to work in a group of two, to produce a major

teaching and learning resource using information and communication technologies (ICT). This project is intended to expand our knowledge based on different ways to incorporate information and communication technologies into teaching and learning. Our ICT Integration Project, integrates ICT into the curriculum, encourages ICT to be used collaboratively as thinking tools to solve problems and engages students in content in a fun and interesting way. At the completion of this project, we will have a thorough understanding of how ICT enhances opportunities for learning and creativity in a classroom. The resource spans over a four-lesson sequence and includes a minimum of three studentcentred uses of ICT. Our four-lesson sequence is designed at a year five level, within the English learning area. It is important that ICT used in each lesson assists student learning and not to make it the main teaching tool. The ICT Integration Project is broken down into three assessable components; Planning, Prototyping and Publishing. Our understanding of what is required for each of these three components, is outlined below: The first component Planning, involves us working together in our group, to create a major teaching and learning resource, to help us identify the types of ICT we can use in a classroom in the future. The planning component of this project is due on the Friday, 21st March 2014 and is to be displayed on the Teacher Page of our online Weebly website. The planning component involves the following tasks: A joint statement expressing our understanding of what is required for the ICT Integration Project A mind map clearly showing what we intend to do and how it fits in with the Australian Curriculum A project plan which details what actions will be taken by each group member and by when A forward planning document that specifies the teaching and learning that is planned over a four-lesson sequence A statement articulating the integration of three ICT resources that will be used in addition to the Internet. The statement will include why we selected the ICT resources and how they are being used as a learning tool A statement indicating how our project is underpinned by establishing learning theory The second component Prototyping encourages us to gain an opportunity to present ICT integrated lessons in a supportive and semi authentic environment. This component requires us to present an activity for thirty minutes to our peers based on one, of the four lessons we created. The date we present to our peers is Friday 7th of March 2014. Our presentation must engage the audience in an active discussion, participate, and encourage the audience to consider how ICT contributed to learning. The third and final component Publishing is due on Friday 18th April 2014. This component requires us to publish the teaching and learning resource we created to our online website Weebly.
