Foreign exchange +%siness starts 7ith a Letter of 9redit <LG9=. !he 'art also descri+es vario%s terms %sed in foreign exchange +%siness like +ack-to-+ack LG92 FOB2 %nderstanding2 shi'ment2 LI*2 L!" etc. According to im'ort and ex'ort control act2 140-2 the officer of the chief controller of im'ort and ex'ort 'rovides the registration <I"9= to the im'orter. After o+taining this2 this 'erson has to sec%re a letter of credit a%thoriIation <L9A= from Bangladesh Bank and then a 'erson +ecomes a 6%alified im'orter. $e is the 'erson 7ho re6%ests or instr%cts the o'ening +ank to o'en an LG9. he is also called o'ener or a''licant of the credit. AIBL is an a%thoriIed dealer <A&= to o'erate foreign exchange transaction. @ith the legal formalities the +ank serves the c%stomers 7ith ex'ort2 im'ort 8 remittance services.
