There are many different styles of Irish dancing but a very popular one is a dance in which dancers stretch across a room in a line moving together with combinations of foot taps, leg steps and movements with their upper bodies kept rigid. The foot sounds accompany the music and the beat, so they need to be prominent enough to be heard. Hip hop Hip hop has the type of beat that makes you want to get up and dance. It combines beats, sounds and gravitydefying moves. Hip hop rst started in the 70s and since then it has survived challenge and change and has found its way into the music and dance scene around the world. Salsa Salsa is an example of exibility and evolution. It is played throughout the world and is strongly rooted in the Hispanic culture. Salsa music has received the inuences of many different places within Latin America and is well-known for its powerful rhythm and energy boosting style. The Chinese New Year happens on a different day each year between 21st January and 20th February marked by the new moon at the beginning of each month. It is celebrated by Chinese people all over the world and families and friends feast together. Spectacular processions are intended to bring luck, health, wealth and happiness for the New Year.

In Germany Christmas is a very important event and there are many traditions. New Years Eve is a family and friends celebration, a bit more intimate than in other cultures. It is a time for family meals and parties. At midnight, a toast is made and there are rework displays which people usually watch from the windows of their homes.

3 The United States New Years Eve in the United States is an enormous social event. Clubs all over the nation are full of people who stay out until dawn celebrating the beginning of the New Year. The traditional New Year Ball is dropped every year in Times Square, New York City, at 12 oclock. This is seen on television all over the country and even broadcast to other areas of the world. 4 France French people usually celebrate New Years Eve with a big feast and a lot of food, which normally includes special dishes, for example seafood, sh, meat, foie gras and of course champagne.
