The CMU is part of a worldwide data link infrastructure over a variety of data link media such as a VHF subnetwork, a Satellite Communications (SATCOM) subnetwork, and an HF subnetwork which provides seamless availability between the airborne end systems and their peer ground-Airline Operational Communication (AOC), such as Out, Off, On, and In reports (OOOI), or Air Traffic Services (ATS) such as Automatic Terminal Information for Pilots (ATIS), Automatic Dependent Surveillance (ADS), or Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications(CPDLC). KMH 880
Honeywell has combined the unmatched flexibility of Integrated Hazard Avoidance System with the reliability and capability of an active-interrogation Traffic Advisory System (TAS) to create the KMH 880 Multi-Hazard Awareness System. This system pairs the KTA 870, which delivers TAS, with the KGP 560 Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System - making this a powerful duo for safety in the sky. Traffic systems can track up to 60 aircraft and display information on up to 30. Eight pilot-selectable ranges from 2 nm to 40 nm show three levels of intruders: non-threat, proximity intruder and Traffic Advisory (TA). The KMH 880 features two directional antennas, each weighing less than a pound, and taking up a third the space of traditional TCAS antennas.The directional antennas, one placed on top of your aircraft, the other on the bottom, minimize own-aircraft shadowing and maximize range. A bottom omni-directional antenna is also available for aircraft with fixed gear. The KMH 880 benefits from flexible display volumes.The system displays aircraft up to 8,700 feet above or below your aircraft. On takeoff, you can select the "above" view, and the system will display traffic 8,700 feet above and 2,700 feet below to concentrate on the space above you; on approach, you can select "below" and the system will display traffic 2,700 feet above and 8,700 feet below. Enroute, a "normal" selection will track aircraft 2,700 feet above and below your aircraft.

MK V
The MK V EGPWS, exceeding the FAA TSO - C151b requirements for TAWS, provides protection against Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT) and windshear. The system achieves this objective by accepting a variety of aircraft parameters as inputs, applying proprietary alerting algorithms, and providing the flight crew with aural alert messages, visual annunciations, and displays in the event that the boundaries of any alerting envelope are exceeded. EGPWS incorporates many features not found in some competing systems such as pin-selectable altitude callouts, envelope modulation, geometric altitude algorithm, turn extrapolation, auto display pop-up, auto tilt of weather radar, and the ability to host Honeywell's Runway Awareness and Advisory System. A menu of 64 pin selectable altitude callouts is also provided during approach. Visual and aural warnings of impending CFIT are provided via Honeywell's unique computer algorithms that can detect an increase or decrease in aircraft performance which is indicative of entry into windshear. Honeywell's MK V EGPWS computers are the only TAWS computers capable of providing detection and timely alerts of windshear conditions. MK VI
The MK VI version of Honeywell's EGPWS is a Class A TAWS that has been optimized for regional turboprop aircraft and provides protection against controlled flight into terrain (CFIT). CFIT warnings include excessive rate of descent, terrain closure rate, excessive altitude loss after takeoff or missed approach procedure, insufficient terrain clearance, descent below glideslope, and excessive bank angle. It also provides callouts at various radio altitudes and DH minimums during approach. Windshear detection is not provided by the MK VI.

MK VIII
The MK VIII version of Honeywell's EGPWS is a Class A TAWS that has been optimized for aircraft serving various markets. Offering many of the features and interfaces of the MK V and MK VII EGPWS, the MK VIII helps to prevent accidents caused by Controlled Flight into Terrain (CFIT). The system achieves this by using a number of aircraft inputs, applying proprietary alerting algorithms, and alerting the crew with aural messages, visual indications, and a display of terrain in the event the boundaries of the alerting envelope have been exceeded. System configuration is controlled via a programmable module. The MK VIII offers a worldwide terrain database, making it ideal for business jets and large turboprops with transcontinental missions. The MK VIII can be flexibly configured for runway lengths 3,500 feet or greater (for use in turbojets) or runway lengths 2,000 feet or greater (for use in turboprops). Databases are loaded via a convenient ATA format PCMCIA card using Honeywell's SmartCable interface.

The highly affordable MK XXI EGPWS adds the powerful safety benefits of EGPWS to VFR-equipped helicopters without radio altimeters and exceeds the FAA TSO-C151b Class B requirements. Visual Guidance System&#153 (VGS)
The integrated Visual Guidance System (VGS) is a head-up display designed specifically for Primus Epic. The VGS eliminates the need for a dedicated head-up display (HUD) computer by using a computing module within Primus Epic. A digital link between the Primus Epic module and the VGS reduces the cabling and installation constraints of an analogue system. VGS was designed for commercial aviation to enhance safety and improve the low visibility capability of business, commuter, and transport aircraft. The system projects flight critical information on a glass screen in the pilot's forward field of view, overlaying the real world scene in front of the aircraft. The symbology is superimposed over the visual scene and displays instantaneous inertial flight path for the pilot in a way that is immediately understood and useful.. the exact path of the aircraft through space. The pilot can predict, with extreme accuracy, exactly where the aircraft will touch down long before the aircraft reaches the runway.

KMD 850
At the heart of the integrated hazard avoidance system (IHAS), the Honeywell Bendix/King KMD 850 sets new standards in situational awareness, ease of operation and safety for general aviation. The KMD 850 is both a display and a controller for the latest in the moving map technology, weather avoidance, traffic advisories and terrain warning. A unique in the industry distributed processor architecture allows you to add processing power as you add functionality. Buy only the capability you need and upgrade at any time, in any order.The KMD 850 has all the benefits of the KMD 550 display with a built in interface for weather radar. The basic MFD provides interfaces for a GPS a WX-500 Stormscope, and for an NTC video input. Various plug in modules support additional functions. These modules presently include the KAC 501 Weather Radar Interface Modules, the KAC 502 EGPWS Interface Module and the KAC 504 Traffic Interface Module. The modular design of the MFD not only permits easy field upgraddes, but also allows each function (map, weather, traffic, and terrain) to operate continously in the background, regardless of what the crew has selected to be shown on the display. The MFD utilizes a 5'' diagonal AMLCD to display a detail moving map that includes three integrated sets of data. The aeronautical database utilizes a customized Jeppesen database with airports, victor airways, VORs, NDBs and special use airspace (included altitude limits). The enhanced cartographic database includes rivers, roads, lakes, coastlines, cities, railroads tracks and towers (including AGL and MSL altitudes - US only). The topographical/elevation database provides altitude information and topographical shading. The KMD 850 Multi function Display is the centerpiece for the IHAS 5000 System. This system is specially designed for aircraft without a weather radar system.

Primus 2000
The Honeywell developed and patented, Primus 2000 automatic dual flight control system features a fully integrated fail operational (automatic switching) design. The flight control system integrates the flight director, autopilot and auto throttle with multiple sensor redundancy management in the IC-800 integrated avionics computer (IAC). Through this technique, sensor data from both sides of the aircraft is available to both IACs to provide monitoring as well as continuous operation, should the sensor fail, all without pilot interaction. The Primus 2000 provides full three -axis, truly fail-passive operation. Available features include coupled go-around and flight path modes, CAT II landing capability, and windshear guidance.

Primus 2000
The Honeywell developed and patented, Primus 2000 automatic dual flight control system features a fully integrated fail operational (automatic switching) design. The flight control system integrates the flight director, autopilot and auto throttle with multiple sensor redundancy management in the IC-800 integrated avionics computer (IAC). Through this technique, sensor data from both sides of the aircraft is available to both IACs to provide monitoring as well as continuous operation, should the sensor fail, all without pilot interaction. The Primus 2000 provides full three -axis, truly fail-passive operation. Available features include coupled go-around and flight path modes, CAT II landing capability, and windshear guidance.

Primus LSZ-860
The LSZ-860 Lightning Sensor System (LSS) is used to detect areas of lightning activity in a 200-nautical mile radius around the aircraft and to give the operator a visual display of its position relative to the aircraft and the lightning rate-of-occurrence. The LSS detects both visible and high energy invisible electromagnetic and electrostatic discharges (lightning) that may indicate areas of turbulent activity. After evaluating the LSS display, and its relation to the precipitation indicated by the weather radar display, the pilot can plan a course to avoid the hazardous weather.
