April 17, 2014 Salmon Hatchery Field Trip As part of our Science curriculum we have been learning about the life of a coho salmon. We have had the opportunity to take care of 55 salmon eggs, which have now hatched and are almost ready to begin eating. Consequently, it is soon time for them to be released back into their natural habitat. On Monday, April 28th we will be traveling by bus to the Nicomekl Fish Hatchery to tour the facilities and release the salmon. There will be a shuttle bus transporting us to and from the hatchery in the morning. Please contact your childs teacher for their time at the hatchery. [Mrs. Cunningham leaves LM at 9:00 a.m.; Mr. Nelson and Ms. Samodiens grade 2s leave LM at 10:00 a.m.; and Mrs. S-K leaves LM at 11:00 a.m.] Each class will need four parent helpers. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate siblings on this field trip. The cost for this field trip is $2 per student; this covers the bus and tour. PAC has contributed to the cost of the busing. This field trip is optional. If you choose for your child not to attend then alternate activities will be provided for them at school. If you are unable to submit the cover cost, please talk with your childs teacher so arrangements could be made to cover the costs by PAC. Please fill out the permission slip and send it in with $2 by Tuesday, April 22nd. Thanks!
