Fall 2013 Spring 2014 Everett High School, Lansing, MI o Included forty hours a week, teaching and planning several different English Language Learners (ELL) mathematics classes with my mentor teacher, Ernest Estrada. o My focus class was Geometry, but I also taught Algebra I, and Algebra II. o Gained extensive experience and practice with: student-centered unit and lesson planning, classroom management techniques, using interactive whiteboard technology, methods of eliciting student thinking, and scaffolding mathematical ideas and tasks to better suit diverse learners. o Practiced cooperative group learning technique known as Complex Instruction. o Practiced a variety of literacy techniques through the Reading Apprenticeship program. o Volunteered three hours weekly, in which I tutored ELL students individually and in small groups in mathematics; also assisted students in completing homework assignments.
