Found online in my room. This photo is of a empty road that leads o! to an unseen area. The leaves are red and there are countless of them scattered on the ground, so it is safe to assume it is fall. The meaning of this picture to me is mystery. A path always has an end, and in the photo the end of the path cannot be seen. The mystery of the path makes you wonder, and your eyes travel down as far as you can go seeing how far you can perceive. The road could be a symbol of life, and how you never know what the end looks like. You just kind of walk down the path, and hope that where you end up is a place that you want to be. I like this picture because of the message of mystery it imposed onto me. This could be seen as a physical representation of the poem "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost, because of the fact that they both have roads as a symbol of life. The picture shows som sort of woman "emerging" into some kind of blue space, I'm not exactly sure what it is. The lady has an expression of a sort of shock on her face. There could be many di!erent meanings that could be taken from this picture, and the one I perceive is more of a religious one. The lady could be submerging herself in her faith or in God, which would explain the blue area. This newly emerged faith is what is giving her the shocked, distilled expression, due to the unfamiliar feelings. The blue area could be a symbol of serenity, peace, faith, God, etc. The shocked expression is a symbol of unfamiliarity. I like this picture because of the many di!erent kinds of ways this picture could be interpreted. It is very similar to the meaning of poetic itself (interpretive) and that is why it in itself is so poetic.
