T his scarf has everything going for it. The merino-and-angora blend
is soft to the touch and very warm. The pattern puts the self-forming
stripes on the diagonal, and the angora sheds a softening haze over the
whole design. Lovely!

Knitting the Scarf


V Cast on 5 stitches.
V ROW 1(WS): Knit.
V ROW 2 (RS): P2, yo, K1, yo, P2.
V ROW 3: K3, P1, K3.
V ROW 4: P2, yo, K3, yo, P2.
V ROW 5: K3, P3, K3.
V ROW 6: P2, yo, K5, yo, P2.
V ROW 7: K3, P5, K3.
V ROW 8: P2, yo, K7, yo, P2.
V ROW 9: K3, P7, K3.
V ROW 10: P2, yo, K9, yo, P2.
V Continue in this manner, increasing 2 stitches every other row, until you have
31 stitches.
V NEXT ROW (WS): K3, P25, K3.
V NEXT ROW (RS): P1, P2tog, yo, K2tog, K24, yo, P2.
V Repeat these 2 rows until scarf is 63" (160 cm) or desired length from cast-on,
ending with a WS row.
