To Whom It May Concern:
It is a pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Rachel Ludwig. I served as Mrs. Ludwigs college supervisor
from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey during her semester as a student teacher. Mrs. Ludwigs
experience was in a first grade in-class support class at the Joseph C. Shaner Elementary, Hamilton Township, New
Jersey. Mrs. Ludwig enjoyed a most productive experience in this primary classroom of both general and special
education students. In addition, Mrs. Ludwig had the opportunity to work in a co-teaching situation with her
cooperating teacher and special education teacher. During her time in this setting, Mrs. Ludwig made great progress
as a teacher. She gained confidence in her classroom demeanor and presence. She demonstrated that she can
command the classroom while still having fun with her students. It was obvious during my several visitations, that the
students enjoyed working with Mrs. Ludwig.
Mrs. Ludwig worked diligently to prepare appropriate lessons for the various ability levels in the class. She designed
lessons using differentiated instruction to meet the needs of her students. She used cooperative learning techniques
to enhance her lessons and meet student needs. For example, Mrs. Ludwig would intersperse partnering in her
lessons to check on student understanding. She understands the individual needs of her students and worked hard
to find success with each student. She did the necessary research to insure the success of her planned lessons. She
understands how to find appropriate resources to enhance her lessons. She often prepared power point information
or used appropriate videos to introduce or reinforce information. Mrs. Ludwig has developed a firm but fair classroom
management style. She often just needed to say Class, eyes, ears and hands to obtain all of the students attention.
She has a positive personality and classroom demeanor with a good sense of humor. This helped to engage the
students in the planned activities. Mrs. Ludwig continually checked for understanding while moving about the
classroom and monitoring student work. She effectively used the schools four point self evaluation scale in her
lessons. This provided a quick check of student understanding of the skills being taught.
Mrs. Ludwig worked beautifully with her cooperating teacher and other members of the school staff. She was involved
with the planning of each days activities. She participated in the PLC, team, building and district meetings. She
learned techniques and strategies that will be of assistance in the future.
Mrs. Ludwig is a conscientious, hard working, dedicated individual who will be a great asset to her school and her
profession. She has the desire and ability to be an outstanding educator. Her enthusiasm is contagious!
Sincerely,
Louis Della Barca
