Health Care (B1): The Affordable Care Act: Background, Basics & Benefits
Theres been a lot of talk about the Affordable Care Act, sometimes called Obamacare, and many
people are wondering what its all about. This session will provide an overview of the new health care
law, review the benefits and consumer protections enacted by the ACA, and provide attendees with the
opportunity to ask questions about how the ACA will affect families and communities throughout

Direct Practice (C1): Building Comfort and Engagement Through Creativity
Develop strategies for creating a culture of comfort, safety, and engagement in youth groups.

High Risk Behaviors (D1): Talking with youth about abuse of legal drugs
Tobacco, prescription drugs and marijuana are common substances for youth to abuse. Learn ways to

In this two part session participants will discuss how different peoples world view influence perceptions
and possible mistrust and misunderstandings. They will learn strategies that lead to positive and
respectful interactions assuring services will be relevant, respectful and appropriate to diverse

Community
An overview of the Travis County Juvenile Drug Court, Reclaiming Futures model utilizing the 16 Juvenile

gain knowledge about Texas Health Steps benefits available to all Medicaid children from Birth to 20
years including information on medical and dental check-ups, medical transportation and Case
