I. Objective
Enhance recycling rate of PLASTICS
with focus on “plastic bags”
through the mobile plastic
collection and recycling program
and establish a mechanism for
operational sustainability
III. Concept
¾ To show the present capabilities for
recycling plastic scraps and to
increase awareness on the proper
handling of waste plastics as
prescribed in the Recycling
Guidelines to increase recovery and
recycling

¾ Link-up barangays and scrap
dealers with the recycler/s of
plastic bags to develop the
recycling market for plastic
bags.
IV. Operational Framework
¾ PPIA coordinated with NSWMC
Secretariat and LGU Solid Waste
Mgmt Offices in identifying pilot
areas and NGOs we can partner
with.
V. Site Selection
¾ Barangays
¾ with existing MRF
¾ with record of plastic
recyclables collected and traded
¾ preferably clustered in one area

of Quezon City are segregating
plastic bags and Foam PS (Miriam
only)
z Education is a factor in the
success of the project. Schools
