The loading rate from tankships depends on the gas density of the freight. With a given
average molecular weight of the loaden fluid you can estimate its gas density as follows.

Example for Benzene, C
6
H
6
Molecular weight: 78,11 g / mol = 78,11 kg / kmol

Dimension: [g / mol] = [kg / kmol], [gram per mol] = [kilogram per kilomol]

If you have got a mixture of fluids please use the average molecular weight.

1. Determine the gas density at 0C as follows or use the diagram 1 to get the gas
density.

2. Draw a vertical line from the value 3,5 on the x-axis (gas density) of your load rate
diagram to the load rate curve, see diagram 2.

3. Then draw a horizontal line to the y-axis (load rate) to get the maximum allowable
load rate in m/h.
