Netbackup -

For Shared Vcenter Env, we have data in TB's on our Shared SAN or Dedicated SAN
( Managed SAN).
WIth our legacy approach , we are backing such huge amount of data over our IP n
etwork(Virtual network traffic)
We need good data protection strategy to back this up smartly over SAN not IP ne
twork .
We choose traditional method over snapshot backup of VM (VADP). This is same for
CLOUD clients as well.
Limited Encryption solution -
We are left with client side encryption option as other option to encrypt data r
equires changes on shared backup infra.
This method is cpu intensive and affects performance of servers that gets backed
up.
VMware -
Poor operational and Maintenance support
- Security Patching/Bug Fixes for ESX/ESXi host

FLASH Based Storage - Lack of solution offerings even within supported EMC/Netap
p. Lack of consulting efforts to understand clients application/db Iops requirem
ent and queue depth issues.
HP Proliant - Lack of Automation on upgrading firmware ( HP Smart Update Manager
