The students should know that the Earth is one of several planets that orbit the sun. And that nine
planets of very different size, composition and surface features move around the sun in nearly circular
orbits.

In the previous knowledge to identify the
students learning needs the teacher will do a
diagnostic test through Exploratory questions
and using a KWL chart

- Exploratory Questions: It will promote the
conversation with the students about the
planets system to ascertain the prior
knowledge that student have.
- KWL chart: The same will be made to
ascertain the prior knowledge that students
have .They will fill the table as the project
develops.
During the process they will see a video,
perform a research group which should be
support through a written work. Additionally


they build a model of the Sun System which
will
be underpin orally. Finally they finish the
KWL Chart.
Group research and presentation:
Students demonstrate their learning abilities
through written research, oral presentation
and construction of a solar system model,
also developing collaborative work.
The aspects that will be evaluated are: group
research, oral presentation and preparation
of the Project model. Students will be
evaluated through checklists and rubrics.

The students have to know about the solar system in Spanish so they can be able to related to English

The development of this unit will start with the definition of knowledge by students of what is known about
the subject and what you want to know this information was developed in the KWL chart.
The teacher will gather the students in the classroom and they will be sitting in front of the multimedia in
order to watch a video about the Sun System birth.
After the video teacher asks: How many planets are in our solar system? And the sizes and distances
between the planets. They may come out with these answers: Venus, Earth, Mars, Mercury, Saturn far,
big, small, near and so on.
Develop a Written research assignment using Arial#12, simple space, the work has to have introduction,
index, bibliography and conclution.
Build a model exhibit of our solar system. You should include the sun and each planet. It should show the
correct order of the planets from the sun and should show the planets in relative size to the sun also Your
model can be a three dimensional replica, poster, mobile, project board, shadow box, etc. Make certain
that all information included in your model is as accurate and current as possible. Be sure that your model
is neat and will be attractive to visitors. Use clay, Styrofoam balls, dough, paper, etc. to build your model.
Try to think outside the box. You will also be completing an oral presentation.
