Please respond to the following prompts: 1. Summarize the key points you learned from this Professional Development experience. I learned that I needed to gather documents/evidence during student teaching. To collect student work samples that shows the effectiveness of my abilities. To create happenings to secure me later. That is, Thematic Units, extracurricular activities, and outside the box strategies. Create lesson that allow me to shine during evaluations, critiques, and references. Build positive relationships with everyone around me. To have a positive interview attitude. Show up with an attitude to get the job done. Administrators are looking for boosts not bugs. My confidence is important. Im new, Im not perfect, show willingness to learn. Ask questions and admit that I have much to learn.
2. Discuss how these key points connect to your content area. These key points connect to my content area because I need to show up every day with the attitude that I can get the job done. I need the confidence to change the negative stigma towards mathematics.
3. Share how you might use this new information in your future classroom. I will use one key point well in my future classroom. The point that I have much to learn. I will ask many of my peers to help me become more of an effective teacher. The best resources are teachers who have been in the profession for years. I will ask multiple questions to help me. I will show a willingness to learn new ideas and strategies.
