announces the following vacancy beginning in the 2006-2007 season

FRENCH HORN AND UTILITY HORN
(approx. 75 services per season)
along with possible unconducted
Ensemble services (Woodwind, Brass Ensembles, etc.)


Auditions will be held Sunday, September 17, 2006 from 10:30am - 1:00pm at the Cleveland In-
stitute of Music, Studio TBA, 11021 East Blvd., Cleveland, OH. Preliminary auditions will be
held 10:30am - 12:30pm, with the final round beginning immediately after.

Per service rate for the 2
nd
Horn and Utility Horn position is $87.85 for the 2006-2007 season.
Per service rate for Ensemble services is $87.85. Some services require daytime availability.

Repertoire for the audition includes a solo work for the French Horn plus the following excerpts:
Beethoven Symphony No. 3 - Trio of Scherzo (2nd horn part)
Symphony No. 9 3rd mvmt. (4th horn part)
Fidelio - opening and 1st Allegro (2nd horn part)
Dvorak Symphony No. 9 4th mvmt. (2nd horn part)
Shostakovich Symphony No. 5 1st mvmt, begin at Largamente
Strauss Don Quixote
Var. V, VII, VIII (4th horn part)
FINAL ROUND: 2nd Horn parts:
Beethoven Symphony No. 8 - Trio
Mahler Symphony no. 1 - opening duet
Possible excerpts from the preliminary round

August 29, 2006. If you need any additional information please contact Michael G. Koscso, Or-
chestra Manager (x606).

Please bring your own music to the auditions - no excerpts will be available at the auditions.
Finalists might be asked to sight-read.
