Senior Portfolio Committee
Buckingham Charter Magnet High School
188 Bella Vista Rd.
Vacaville, CA 95687

Dear Senior Portfolio Committee,

I am writing this letter to graduate from Buckingham Charter Magnet High School and begin to
pursue a career in International Business as a Foreign Service Officer. I will also attend one full year
of ministry as an intern for The Fathers House; therefore, it is necessary for me to complete my
senior year.

Throughout my life, I have accumulated much insight on the way humans function psychologically,
and I have also found a talent in connecting with others. I am currently trilingual and have a wide
capacity for learning, as I have taken all four years of math, science, music arts, and English, and
three years of Spanish. Throughout high school, I have maintained an above-average GPA while
sustaining a job at Vacaville Ice Sports for eighteen consecutive months. I am a hard worker and Im
dedicated to my work, regardless of circumstance. My teachers have greatly encouraged me to better-
-to never stop reaching higher. Furthermore, my Buckingham friends have always been a positive
influence on me, both academically and emotionally. These are the relationships I wish to carry with
me into adulthood.

After high school, I plan to take an aforementioned gap year to learn ministry at The Fathers House
as a GenLife Intern, also known as a GLI. I plan to continue working at Vacaville Ice Sports during
this time so I can move into my own apartment in Vacaville and support myself away from my single
mother. I also wish to form a deeper relationship with God and His Word, as well as the people
around me. When my internment begins to come to a close, I will apply for UC Berkeley for the
following fiscal year. If I am not accepted, I will enter an alternate community college to transfer in,
and I will move accordingly. I wish to pursue International Business as my main major and Japanese
language and culture as my second major, as well as a minor in philosophy, for four years. After that,
I will apply as a Foreign Service Officer in the government and undergo several rigorous testings and
interviews to obtain the spot. Once I am hired, I will be sent to other countries as a diplomat, though
the specifics of my job will be very open-ended the first couple of years of employment.
Nevertheless, I will be living my dream by representing my country or a private enterprise as I meet
new people and travel.

All in all, I greatly appreciate your effort in reading my portfolio, and I look forward to its approval. I
thank you for your time and consideration in reading the entirety of this text.

Sincerely,

Serena Armstrong
