2. My article was on a new device called Cyborg Unplug, Cyborg Unplug is a state-of- the-art mobile device that gives you the ability to knock devices offline, whether it is a drone, mobile devices, or even surveillance devices. Cyborg Unplug will have two different versions for sale on $50 and the other $100. Cyborg Unplug is a wireless anti-surveillance system only its portable, at the command of the user it targets devices attempting to access your Wi-Fi signal then promptly boots them offline. Cyborg Unplug allows has an All Out Mode where in this mode you can knock devices off any wireless network not just your specific network. This mode is controversial since this mode can be used to knock things offline on any network which is illegal in some instances. The company went on later to say that We take no responsibility for the trouble you get yourself into if you choose to deploy your Cyborg Unplug in this mode referring to the All Out Mode. It is also important to note that this device is not a jammer (a transmitter used for blocking all network signals within a specific area) rather that it targets specific devices at the users command. 3. I used Google and Bing as my alternative search engines. Comparing the two search engines I would say that I found google has the better search engine. For me Google compared to Bing was much easier to maneuver, it had a free flow feel to it. I typed the same thing into each search engine cyborg unplug articles and for Google I got around 92,000 results where I had received 8,010,000 results on Bing. All these extra results are not a positive thing though, I found on google although it was much less results, they only gave me results on what I needed, getting straight to the point with things. Whereas, on bing I found that many of the results had me skim reading to see if it was actually what I was searching for, Kyle Schroeder Assignment 1: Information Literacy

this was a problem with a majority of the results (I mainly only looked on the first page or so). So in this case the more defined lower amount of results was much better than sifting through results looking for what I actually needed. 4. Trap: Time, Relevance Authority Accurate Purpose for the Google article. Time- Written September 9 th , 2014 (has not been updated but is very recent so not expected) Relevance- Was only about my topic gave me much needed information, very relevant Authority- Written by Aaron Lanton a writer for the Tech Times page, I would say he is qualified to write about it due to the fact that he writes for a tech page daily. Accurate- Most of the information he used came from the company so its rather trustworthy. It is not supported by evidence and the product hasnt been released yet so no tests have been done. Purpose- To inform the reading audience of the product and its capabilities, it shows no bias the material is more objective. 5. Cyborg unplug and Cyborg unplug news articles For both databases I used google news to search and find both. 6. Both the internet articles and the news articles were rather easy to find and read through, although the news articles gave a more factual reading compared to the internet articles. Seeing that this is a very recent articles both the internet articles as well as the newspaper articles were recent, neither were outdated or had new information that one did not. As far as authority wise I would actually lean towards the internet articles because the internet articles I found were all from tech pages devoted to tech advancements, etc. Whereas for the newspaper articles although they were both major companys (ex: daily times) I feel like a devoted page all about technology would be more qualified to write about Cyborg Unplug compared to a newspaper.
