University Student Council 2014-2015 Alternative Classroom Learning Experience (ACLE) 1415 Series 1 AGENDA Rationale and Objectives Project Title Program Venues Registration Mechanics Terms and Guidelines for Organizations Timeline of Activities and Preparation
2 #ISKOnversations Rationale and Objectives Enshrined in the University Student Council (USC) Constitution Preamble, the USC is mandated to foster a close relationship among the students and other sectors of society in order to instill national consciousness for the advancement of the Filipino people. Our education, both liberating and limitless, goes beyond the four walls of the classroom. While we can gain so much from this education, it must ultimately be pursued for the benefit of the Filipino people. Thus, the USC leads this effort to encourage students to discuss social issues, promote their respective disciplines, and forward their advocacies, empowering each and every Iskolar ng Bayan to take part in the developing narrative of social progress. In line with this, the biannual Alternative Classroom Learning Experience or ACLE shall be spearheaded by the USC Education and Research Committee, in partnership with the UP Linux Users Guild (UnPLUG), to give opportunities to Iskos and Iskas to share and impart their learnings, advocacies, and interests with fellow students. This initiative aims to showcase the diversity of knowledge that different organizations have to offer while exploring the possibilities for unique partnerships and synergy across disciplines and perspectives. 3 #ISKOnversations Project Title Conversations involve the exchange of sentiments, observations, opinions, or ideas. The most dynamic conversations take place between two or more open-minded people. Conversations provide brilliant opportunities to both share and learn. ISKOnversations seeks to demonstrate the dynamism that takes place in the exchange of thoughts and sentiments. As Iskolars ng Bayan, we pride ourselves on the depth, the novelty, and the germaneness of our ideas. We all have ideas to share and stories to tell and each of these ideas and stories is part of the larger and ongoing narrative of the Iskolars ng Bayan. For this years ACLE, the USC Education and Research Committee would like to emphasize the exchange and discourse that takes place between students and the potential within these. We hope to encourage each organization to creatively interact with fellow students. We desire to foster partnerships between organizations of seemingly tangential orientations with the possibility for greater collaborations. Finally, we seek to explore the frontiers of our knowledge and discover the unfolding stories of every Iskolar ng Bayan. Behind every Iskolar and every organization is a storya story for ISKOnversations to uncover and echo. 4 #ISKOnversations Program: Registration Period There will be three registration periods (with release of results indicated in parentheses respectively: August 18 - 22 (August 24) September 8 - 12 (September 14) September 29 - October 3 (October 5) During each period, organizations will submit their topics and desired venues to be approved by the USC Education and Research Committee.
