Word patterns are combinations of letters which produce particular sounds
when blended together, for e.g., hand, land end in and and only the initial
sound is changed for the new word.

Moving Letters to Make Words

This is a hands-on approach to spelling.


First, practice making words with the sounds of letters.

Directions: Student cuts apart the letters on this page. Scramble the
letters. Parents say one word from the word box. The child uses individual
letters to spell each of the words in the word box.
Second, the child prints the word.
