I will quit but not dissolve assembly, says Dr Malik

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch on Sunday said he could not
think of dissolving the provincial assembly and would step down with grace if he lost his
majority.

He expressed these views while speaking to reporters at the MPA Hostel here.Provincial
Minister Rehmat Saleh Baloch, Adviser on Finance Khalid Langav, Secretary General National
Party Dr Yasin Baloch, Secretary Information and Spokesperson Jan Muhammad Buledi, MPA
Dr Shama Ishaq and others were present on the occasion.

Asked if he would run the government, tender resignation or dissolve the assembly if the PMN-N
parted ways with his government in protest against the deteriorating law and order situation in
the province, the chief minister said there was no question of dissolving the House and he would
step down.

When questioned about the presence of Afghan intelligence agency and Taliban in Balochistan,
he said the province was situated in a conflict zone and big powers were disturbing the situation
there.

He said the law and order situation in the province had 80 percent improved. We will overcome
this situation shortly. In fact, the big powers are at work to disturb the situation in the province
but we will maintain law and order at all costs, he maintained.
