Fall 2014

Purpose/ Background of the Activity

To manufacture inexpensive water purification system that would improve the quality of life in
Third World regions. This project has the potential to affect many people and dramatically
improve health conditions. This is bigger than making money...it is about doing good for
mankind and making the world a better place.
The large number of people involved validates a need for this product. The numbers and
demand also increase the potential of being able to supply a low cost product and be profitable
as a business.
The U.S. facility would involve additional support such as managing logistics, purchasing,
production control schedules and R&D department.
Part One
Customer (society)
The Haiti facility would target charities and government agencies for sales but would be
available for the general public also. Haiti was chosen as the area to help as almost 50% of the
people do not have access to clean water.
The U.S. facility would produce the same product but would target a different customer base.
There is a growing population that plans for a sudden collapse of our society. This product
would be a great addition to a doomsday shelter. Product could also be marketed to hunting
/fishing cabins that do not have access to clean water and emergency preparedness agencies to
help in local crisis, such as dealing with the aftermath of a hurricane or water treatment plant
failure.

Product Design and Function Explanation

Our product is a ceramic pot water filter that looks very similar to a flower pot. Made by
filling molds with a clay mixture and pressing them to about 250-400 lbs. We then stage them
to dry for up to 13 days. Then we kiln fire them to a ceramic state. Once fired and cooled the
pots are dipped into a colloidal silver solution. The silver has antibacterial properties that clean
the water as it travels though the filter. The filter will be a manufactured part of a whole kit
consisting of one five gallon bucket, filter, and dispensing valve.
The materials needed for this product are available locally in Haiti, and it will provide

Link is to a listing of our warehouse in Port au prince. We chose this site for location. Being on a
shipping port will make shipping our product to other county's around the world much simpler.
Our clay will be trucked in to our warehouse from local sources via the main road on the coast
HT-2, however the colloidal silver, buckets, and dispensing valves will be purchased from
another company and shipped to us. Port au prince has an international air port should we find
flying our product to be affordable.
This facility would focus on making the clay filters and assembling the valve on the bucket.

The U.S. facility in Fort Pierce Florida would also produce the same product with local clay and
also control logistics, production control, and basically manage both facilities. This facility
would also facilitate R&D projects .

Our location in Fort Prince Florida is close to a port for shipping and and an international
air port as well. Materials for operation will most likely be delivered by truck.
