Activity 6.1.

This view of the Automoblox car is side view. This particular view shows
the curved lines at the front and back pieces. We also are able to point
out the radial balance in the two wheels that are shown. You can also see
the symmetrical balance in the front headlights since they are spread
apart equally on both sides. Another feature you can point out is the
color of the pieces. The windshield demonstrates lower saturation due to
how it is transparent.

This view of the Automoblox car is the front view. This view shows the
contrast of the Automoblox text on the wooden material. You can also
distinguish the symmetrical balance in the taillights and also in the
wheels. They are spaced the same distance and congruent. We also see
how the wheel has a mechanical shape and also has a rough exterior
texture. We also see the concept of texture in the body of the car since
the material seems to appear to be smooth.
This view of the Automoblox car is the back view. It is able to show us the
gradated rhythm of the people in the passenger section if you look
carefully. It shows how the back row of the people is at a higher positon
compared to the front row. You can also point out the symmetrical
balance of the A logo on the very back compared to its positioning to
the backlights and wheels. You may notice the curvature in most of the
lines such as where the back has been shelled out or how the windshield
curves downward. Another observation is how there is a color contrast in
the interior of the windshield and the outside of it. The final observation
is how there is empty space in the back to act as a trunk.

Prior to this study I had no prior knowledge to the design principles. I have learned that as you look
closely at an object you can see how certain colors or lines become more appealing to the human eye. It
also has taught me that there are different types of balance and I have noticed in this particular design, it
contains a lot of symmetrical balance.
In future observations I will decide to look more closely. In architecture, I will take to account how they
use certain types of lines to give the selected person emotions. I will also look into how certain designs
have been used and why they are so successful compared to other ones. I also will take into account
space, negative and positive, an object occupies.
The natural world is full of design principles. The elements such as light/color and its contrast is
everywhere such as in trees and their leaf color based on its location compared to what sunlight it can
access. You can also see how the symmetry in things such as waterfalls and the curvature in lines in rivers
that we perceive as peaceful.
Design principles can play a major role in commercial appeal of a product. One element that can be major
is economy, where less is better. The object with the least amount of bulk or crazy add-ons can be most
appealing to a consumer. You also may notice that colors or lines can change a persons view and add
emotion. We observe before we purchase something.
