The main subject of this chapter shows what someone would need to be a special
education teacher. One requirement, like many, is to be caught up on studies; in this case, that
would be what disabilities can occur and how to maintain. A person wanting to be a special
education teacher must be able to keep calm under pressure and have the ability to keep their
students calm when they understand something or get frustrated. Regular teachers mostly think
most about the needs of groups of children where as a special education teacher must always see
the needs of each separate child for whom they are responsible. With this being known, teachers

must have a variety of teaching techniques and technology. This job requires a bachelors degree
at least and the general studies inside that degree include educational psychology, legal issues of
special education, and the knowledge and skills needed to develop and teach curricula for
students with disabilities. I chose to write about this because it deals with the career I wish to
have and it gives information on key topics I would need to know about when I decide to start
my career as a special education teacher.
