Dear Amnesty International,

I have been seeing a lot lately that the Russians have not been giving the citizens of
their country proper human rights and I think they should have to change the way the
people are treated in the country. Some of the things that they are doing are beating
journalist that are talking bad about the country. A lot of the reason why the human rights
are so bad is because back when Stalin was in power he would treat his people bad and
now when Putin is in power he treats his people around the same way or even worse. So
after what I just said I will be telling you things I have seen around that Russia have done to
their people and that they should have to change that if they are a true Democracy.
To start off I would like to bring up some of the things they did during the Olympics
that they had held. First they forced over 2000 families to move from where they were to
somewhere else so they could make room for Olympic buildings and then a lot of the people
lost a lot more because they had farms there and that was the only way they had to make
money. And they also didn't pay people that much money or none at all to move. Also
involving the Olympics they have forced migrant workers to work for them. They had around
70,000 workers work on the Olympic stadiums and other things for the Olympics so the
workers worked for around 12 hours a day with a day off once 1 a month and a lot of the
time the time the employers don't pay the works that they had and failed to confiscating the
migrants passports. And all the things the employers were doing were against the Russian
law. So with Russia trying to make their country look amazing for the spectators and
participants in the Olympics they ruined people's lives and livelihood to make space for their
stadiums and other things. Then making people work for hours and hours and days on days
just to show off is pretty messed to the people because the work and made no living
because they didn't get paid and can't even help their family.
Also Russia is a terrible place if you are an independent journalist. This is because
they get threats harassment all the time because the country doesnt like being talked about
if its in a bad way. Also they are faced with many lawsuits for what they talk about. Since
1992 about 52 journalists have been killed in Russia for talking about the country. So if they
are treating people like that for how they talk the government they are not a true democracy
and human rights because the people don't have freedom and speech and many other
things. Since 1992 about 52 journalists have been killed in Russia for talking about the
country.
Russia is not allowing 18 Americans coming into the country because America has
18 Russians in sanction because of human rights violations. And the reason why I think
they do not want the Americans people to come in to their country is because they might
see some of the human rights problems they have and they do not want them to be spread
back to America so then other countrys get involved. This is just another thing that Russia
is doing to make their country look bad and make them seem like a bad place to live which
it is I think.

The EU is even criticizing the Russian human rights thinking that they are really big
concerns because they are going against all the laws and other things that they made to
make even be fair and have the same human rights. The reason that they are criticizing
them is because they are arresting protesters that did nothing wrong and where no violent
and are still awaiting court for about a year. Even Russian human rights accuses are talking
about how the changed happen when Putin came back in power he made a clampdown on
people around the country. This is just what the people are saying that the country is doing
wrong maybe they just need a new president.
In Russia the parliament they are trying to make laws that would get people who
promote people to be fine with being homosexuals arrested put in jail or they could get
some big fines. This makes Russia look even worse because they are also stopping people
from living the way they want because they are being threatened with time in jail and or a
fine which is also against human rights policies. So know they are also going to stop human
rights supporters to be stopped and get fines up to 1 million rubles or 20,500 euros. Which
is also stupid because if you are having a calm protest about anything with no violence or
anything and or showing support for peoples human rights you should not be charged or put
in jail for that when they should get nothing for speaking their mind and saying what they
want.
This is why I think Putin is a bad leader and should be taken out. And should be
charged with human right chargers. This is because he took peoples home and forced
people to work without any pay to build a nice Olympic stadium to impress the rest of the
world. Also it is a terrible place for people who are independent journalist because they get
beat and harassed when they talk about the country and government and a lot of the times
they are killed when they get beat. Last people cannot speak their mind about anything or
spread things they believe are right without getting jail time or fines that are a lot of money.
That is just some of the reason why Putin is not giving his people fair human rights.
