Lesson Objectives: For students to gain a better understanding of how to play the game. They will get a look at simple strokes that can make the game easier for
them.
Standard(s) Being Addressed:
Safety: Have a first aid kit on stand by. Make sure that all rackets stay in hands and do not leave the hand. Clear all tennis balls off the court that you are
playing on to prevent injury in that manner. If we are in a line, do not swing your racket wildly as this could leave someone injured.

Mini tennis consists of each partner


standing one different sides of the net at
the service line. They will hit the ball
back and forth to each other letting the
ball bounce once in between each hit. I
will show the class what a simple
forehand and back hand looks like.

Everyone will stay with the same partner
they had and this time they come in a
few steps from the service line and will
volley in the air to their partner.

one racket and will attempt the
four balls drills that I will have
them do. The purpose of the ball
drills are to help develop racket
control.
I will show the class what simple
strokes look like so that they can
have a better chance of keeping a
rally going. Racket below the ball
and finish the stroke over your
