Introduction and Objective:

Sgp is the new trend in the world of Automated

Package & Storage Systems and Logistics, giving the

customers to customize and track the containers or
cases of their use as per their product, varying from the
Automobile industry to the Food and Beverages
industry, in maintaining and controlling the quality of
the product till it reached to their customers, making
them sustainable and keep their product quality
unaltered.
The objective of this project is to apply CIMpgr system
modeling technique to model process in the company
and specify the different input, output, and resource
and control parameters. This provides the better
understanding of the overall process by breaking down
into layer-wise different smaller processes. The
methodology is explained in detail in the following
section.
Methodology:
As mentioned above, CIMpgr method has been used
for SGP. A complete CIMpgr model is a set of diagrams
arranged in a layered manner, which systematically
illustrates the object-to-object relationships between
the objects, their functions and entities. This
methodology works perfectly for the purpose of
analyzing, specifying, designing, implementing/
integrating, operating, maintaining/ supporting and
project managing systems, including large scale Total
Quality Management, software systems, Computer
Integrated Manufacturing Enterprise (CIME), lean
Manufacturing, and Concurrent Engineering
developments. The methodologies used in this project
are based on the CIMpgr process model, which was
created by Dr. Paul G. Ranky.

Using the CIMpgr method as our foundation, we have

created a model that allows for the finding of what a
certain industry's processes lack, what their products
are missing, and where their production is inefficient. At
the same time, it allows us to utilize our knowledge of
what inputs other industries have to develop our
solutions for the deficiencies.
Process Model:
Our process model development, for overall process, is
depicted in the figure below (Layer A0).

LAYER 0

Inputs:
I1A0 Customer Requirements: Success of any business
depends upon how well it addresses and fulfills the
demands of customer. Since we will be serving
customers of different sectors, we make sure that our
containers of different shapes and sizes satisfy the
requirement of our customers. To fit in their shoes we will
make sure that the product is designed while
maintaining the utmost needs of our customers.

I2A0 Raw Material: This input comprises of the raw

material that we will procure for making our
Containers. My company believes in making Ecofriendly products, which would not pose any kind of
health hazard. That is the reason we choose to use
recyclable material and zero toxic paints which is not a
hazardous material in making our containers. Moreover,
we will be using recycled aluminum, paper and plastic
for packaging. Also, we will recycle our own scrap
material produced during manufacturing process to
reduce waste. All these inputs and efforts will help us in
attaining sustainability reliability and cost effective
product.
I3A0 Utilities: Utilities like water, electricity, Internet, etc.
are a must input for any production process. But, we will
use the processes and technology, which consumes
less energy. Also, we will use solar panels to generate
some of our electricity.
I4A0 Research and Development based requirements:
My Company is research focused and our dedicated
research and development wing will help us in
exploring the new technologies and incorporating
them into our containers. Also, we will work
Controls:
C1A0 Quality: To maintain our product quality we will
ensure quality and control checks at each step. We
will make the control charts by obtaining the control
limits of the process parameters. The control limits are

obtained by applying different experiment design

methods.
C2A0 ISO Standards: We will follow the ISO standards as
a guideline for our process and will consistently work to
maintain it at each step to ensure that materials,
products, processes and services are fit for the purpose
they were intended for.
C3A0 Waste Management: Controlling the waste while
manufacturing would be our topmost priority. We are
not only using recycled product for packaging but we
will make sure that our production process is efficient
enough and should not produce any harmful scrap.
Also, the scrap that is produced will be recycled as
much as we can.
C4A0 Financial Limitations: We will plan all the
expected fixed and variable cost and revenues
beforehand and make the budget accordingly.
Controlling and having command over budget is going
to be a key step in running my company to avoid huge
losses that happen when budget go out of control.
Also, our investment in R&D will increase our revenue
down the line and make us an economically
sustainable company.
C5A0 Safety Measures: Working in such a large scale
we make sure that all of our process, products and
service is safe. To ensure the safety of our staff and
products we will perform continuous testing of every
process, which would help us in preventing huge
tragedies. We use the automated systems, which are

safer and increase quality at the same time.

C6A0 Time Bound: Time is a crucial factor to be
considered. Every order from the customers is time
bound. We plan and work to deliver the flawless
products in time to our customers as promised. Also, we
will make sure there is sufficient raw material inventory
for production all the time. Moreover, completion of
each process will have a specified timeline.

our customer is our priority. The adoption of such
processes will help us in on time delivery of high quality
product exactly as per the need of our customers.
Further, post marketing, our sales team will take care
that customers are happy with the use of product.
O3A0 Competitive Advantage: Gaining competitive
advantage while maintaining the quality of our
product at affordable and accessible price is our focus.
Our competitive advantage comes from highly
innovative research and development, our intellectual

property rights, our collaborators as well as satisfaction

of our customers.
O4A0 Green Technology: Using inexpensive, highly
abundant, nonhazardous materials for making
Containers as well as recycled waste in packaging,
following ISO standards, energy efficient equipment
that would produce as less scrap as possible and waste
management will finally help us in becoming a
sustainable green company with a sustainable green
product which is going to be a long term advantage.
COLLABORATION:
The CIMpgr model developed by Dr. Ranky, Paul G has enabled our
corporation to achieve the goals designed by using the model in our
processes. By laying out a clear process model approach has made it
easy to support flexibility and change management by means of
making humans, methods, tools and technology work together. By
offering simple methods and tools that can be used by system
analysts, designers, IT as well as non-IT (Information Technology)

Main Processes:
The figure below represents Layer 1 which is the break
down of the overall process (Layer A0) into 5 different
sub-process namely A1, A2, A3, A4 and A5.
A1 Customer Requirements Analysis and Design
Analysis Process: The production of customized
Shipment Containers require proper planning, design,
and making a simulation before production. The
developed product will be tested under simulation to

check if it meets customer requirements or not. Once it

is satisfactorily achieved the corresponding design as
well as the programs needed for production using the
automated tools will be generated and sent to
production. Simulation is a necessary step as it saves
resources and time and ensures quality.
A2 Design and Product Development Process:
Our Design and Product Development process also
underpins sustainability. We will procure data and
design for making our products which do not pose any
kind of health hazard unlike lead and other heavy
materials. Recyclable plastic, aluminum and paper will
be obtained from the collaboration partners at a very
cheap rate. Moreover, we will also recycle our internal
waste as much as possible.
A3 Production and Manufacturing Process: We will
keep the control of entire process and every little
aspect to ensure the product quality and safety. We
will also follow the ISO 9001-2008 principles. We will
ensure that environmental regulations and met and we
will try to minimize waste. There will be a separate
waste management and recycling process for this.
A4 Quality Analysis and Product Pre-Launch Test: Once
manufactured the product will go to Quality analysis
and product pre-launch test. The skilled sales and
marketing professionals will also work towards
advertising the companys products as well as finding
new customers and collaborators. They will also ensure
customer satisfaction by taking customer feedback
and providing post marketing customer support.

A5 Product Launch and Customer Service: SGPis

dedicated to provide a healthy, green and
environment friendly solution to our customers. Through
our Research and Development process we will keep
on investing on viable new ideas for Green energy
using containers.
The figure below represents Layer 2 which is the break
down of the process A3 (Production and
Manufacturing Process) further into 2 different subprocess namely A3.1 and A3.2
A3.1 Manufacturing process based on customer
requirements: In this the actual customer-based
containers will be manufactured using the customer
requirements and design and computer programs from
simulation process. After manufacturing it goes for
quality check and the scrap goes for recycling.
A3.2 Recycling and Waste Management: In this process
all the internal and external waste material is recycled.
This makes the whole process Green and sustainable.
Collaboration:
At sgp we continuously work to ensure that our
products and services are Eco-friendly, green focused
and sustainable. Each process has its own significant
and unique characteristic which makes it to
collaborate in terms of sustainability and green
engineering.

A1 Planning, Design and Prototyping Process: Proper

planning, design and prototyping before production
leads to less wastage of resources and also higher
quality. Both these aspects make this process
green and sustainable, as there will be less waste
generation due to low quality products. Also, its use in
R&D helps in innovating new Green technology.
A2 Material Procurement Process: Our material
procurement process also underpins sustainability as it
procures recyclable waste as well as abundantly
available nonhazardous containers. The transport and
storage of these materials also does not require any
special conditions like temperature control and
therefore there is no energy is wasted in that. The
efficient inventory management systems are also in
place which makes the system more efficient and
Green.
A3 Production Process: We will also follow the ISO 90012008 principles which itself has Green aspects. We will
ensure that environmental regulations and met and we
will try to minimize waste. There will be a separate
waste management and recycling process, which
recycles the internal and external waste and thus
minimizes waste production. Also, the product itself that
is produced is a Green product as it can convert waste
mechanical energy into electrical energy.
A4 Sales, Marketing, and Collaboration and Customer
service: This process helps us reach out to people and
customers and collaborators with our Green product
and new concepts and ideas for renewable energy.

The professionals here also try to influence our

customers to think in a Green and sustainable way.
Also, the cost effectiveness of our product helps in
making this Green alternative attractive to others.
A5 Research, Development and Scientific
Communications: The scientific publications in different
well known magazines like Energy Solutions makes
scientific community aware of this sustainable
technology and helps in outreach. Also, it helps to
attract more funding from government agencies for
other sustainable R&D projects. The R&D develops new
concepts for Green energy generation from waste
mechanical energy.
More Collaboration:
My Company will do more collaboration in order to be
a market leader. We will collaborate for manufacturing
tools with Sunnen, which has wide array of tools for all
kind of productions. The precision honing tools will be
used for making precision holes. It will also provide
support in setting up of other automated and precision
equipment. Todays Energy Solutions (TES) is the
publication dedicated to serving the alternative and
renewable energy industries. As TES is the only trade
publication focused exclusively on renewable energy
manufacturing and design, we will do our technical
publication in TES to become visible worldwide and
also to find out about what is happening in rest of the
world in this field. We will also find more collaborators
for future pilot project through this publication.
Moreover, we will recycle their unsold magazine copies

for making our labeling and instruction manual. Every

product needs a proper marketing to let their end user
know about them. We will use the unparalleled reach
of MD&DI magazine in medical world to reach to our
customers. We will do the advertising and marketing of
our product through MD&DI known to help industry
professionals develop, design, and manufacture quality
medical products. Moreover, we will recycle their
unsold magazine copies for making our labeling and
instruction manual. Every year thousand of tons of
waste are produced by hotels.
Summary:
SGP COMPANY has been has been broken down and
described under the CIMpgr modeling methodology.
Three layers of abstraction were achieved described in
processes AO, A1-A4 and A1.1-A1.5. Also a Sustainable
Green Focus has been maintained throughout the
design process incorporating quality reviews and Eco
standards in the control parameters.
Further Work Needed:
No system can be fully described as there will always
be areas that can use additional refinement or
specifications. Only process A1 has had a second layer
complete, so further work could be completed on the
other processes. Additional refinement can be
achieved by adding feedback paths, inputs, resources
and controls where considered necessary or by
eliminating redundant paths that make the processes
wasteful.

1) Nissan e-v200
After reading the article I felt it is good idea as will help to
produce a practical solution and a sustainable design can
be seen. Netherlands is becoming a center for electric cars
in its own right though thanks to efforts like this.

In Rotterdam, Nissan e-NV200 = 5,000

by Akashdeep Singh Sher Gill - Thursday, October 16, 2014, 10:08 PM

Nissan is introduced, Nissan e-NV200 electric van for 5,000, or

about $6,500 hitting Rotterdam streets, the second largest city in the
Netherlands. In addition to this, City officials are looking to take up to
5,000 older, more polluting vehicles off of city roads, with this latest
rebate adding to some of the most generous EV incentives in the
world with an immediate 3,000 rebate, with local incentives taking
up to another 7,000 off of the list price.
Moreover, the new scrappage program, as well as a 1,450 home
charging unit credit, and the Nissan e-NV200 Visa Flex can be had
for just about 4,950, or about $6,500, which is about 25% of the
MSRP for an electric van .

The effects of these incentives in places like Norway have been

huge, with cars like the Tesla Model S and Nissan LEAF that become
overnight sale hits ". The Netherlands is becoming a center for
electric cars in its own right though thanks to efforts like this. I think
this program is promoting sustainable urban development that allows
cities to work together to develop solutions to major urban
challenges, helping decreasing the issue that big cities are been
having for years with the transportation challenges. This is a good
idea because it helps to develop practical solutions that are new and
sustainable, with economic factor, social and environmental
dimensions.
