Dr. Larry M.

Prober Bio
Dr. Larry M. Prober, Associate Professor of Accounting, has been a member of the Rider faculty
since 1987. Prior to Rider he taught for 10 years at Rutgers University and was an auditor for a
large international public accounting firm. Professor Prober is a Certified Public Accountant
(CPA), a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), a Certified Rate of Return Analyst,
(CRRA), a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant
(CGMA). He is a financial consultant and has served as an expert witness in regulatory hearings.
At Rider, Professor Prober has developed and taught a variety of courses including Analysis of
Accounting Data, a valuation based integrative accounting/finance course and the MBA Business
of Sports. His recent interests include forensic accounting and sustainability reporting. His
research includes publications in the Global Journal of Finance and Economics, American
Business Review, International Research Journal of Finance & Economics, Middle East Journal
of Finance and Economics, European Journal of Economics, Finance, and Administrative
Sciences and the Pennsylvania CPA Journal as well as extensive contributions to the AICPAs
Quality of Earnings and Ethics Case Study Collections.
Dr. Prober received a B.S. in Business from the University of Delaware in 1972, an MBA from
the University of Massachusetts in 1972, an MS in Accounting from Temple University in 1975
and a Ph.D. from Temple in 1985.
