Report for Associates Meeting January 14, 2015
1) Call to Order 7:15p.m.
2) Roll Call See Attached
3) Minutes from the December meeting approved
4) Reports of Committees:
a. Dog Park
Brandt-Quirk dog park site - City will be submitting a sealed bid for land north of
Brandt/Quirk Park, due by January 26.
b. Spools for the Boomer dog park the artist and Ys way will be working on those
at the Recycling Center this month
c. Signs for the boomer dog park - Kris has the notes and is working on the project
this month.
d. Dog Training Next Basic Family Dog class starts Wednesday, Feb. 25th at 7pm
at the recycling center.
i. The Watertown shelter will choose a dog to send.
ii. We need volunteers to help clean and prep the Recycling Center before
each class. Greg is following up with some leads on a volunteer, but more
help would be nice.
e. Events
i. Making Enrichment Toys for Shelter Dogs
1. The Watetown Shelter Manager attended the meeting and
reviewed the samples
2. Other ideas were discussed and samples will be presented at the
next meeting.
3. The Shelter Manager requested Treat Chutes that allow visitors to
treat the dogs in the kennels without putting their fingers through
the cage mesh with the treats for the occasional dog with barrier
frustration
5) Old Business:
i. Tee shirts are ready to order.
Prices:
Tee Shirts: $12
Hoodies: $30
Some people placed orders for regular sweat shirts, but prices arent
available from the manufacturer yet.
ii. Finalizing plans for the annual meeting
1. Watertown All Breed Community will be setting our goals for the
year with input of new ideas from the larger community. The public
is invited to attend, but must reserve a seat in advance.
