Book of Devotions
Prayers for the Holy Mass and the Confession
Pg. -2)
AN ACT OF CONTRITION:
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you and I
detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven and
the pains of hell. But most of all because I have offended
you, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve with the help of your grace, to confess my
sins, to do penance and to amend my life. Amen.
-2-
Eternal Father,
I offer you the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinity,
of Your Dearly Beloved Son,
Our Lord, Jesus Christ,
in atonement for our sins
and those of the whole world.
F. On the ten small beads of each
decade, say:
Holy God,
Holy Mighty One,
Holy Immortal One,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Optional Closing Prayer
Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of
compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase
Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not
despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence
submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy
itself.
1.2. 3 O'CLOCK PRAYER TO THE DIVINE MERCY
3 O'clock Prayer To The Divine Mercy
SEVENTH DAY
that are being prayed for; those persons, that is, that voluntarily
offered themselves to God for the salvation of their neighbor (see
Col 1:24; 2 Cor 4:12). This explains their close union with the Savior
and the extraordinary efficacy
that their invisible activity has for others. In the second prayer,
directed to the Father from whom comes "every worthwhile gift and
every genuine benefit, "we recommend the "active" souls, who
promote devotion to The Divine Mercy and exercise with it all the
other works that lend themselves to the spiritual and material
uplifting of their brethren.
EIGHTH DAY
"I promise that the soul that shall venerate this image will not
perish." (Diary, 48)
"Jesus looked at me and said, Souls perish in spite of My bitter
Passion. I am giving them the last hope of salvation; that is the
Feast of My Mercy. If they will not adore My mercy, they will perish
for all eternity." (Diary, 965)
"My image already is in your soul. I desire that there be a
Feast of Mercy. I want this image, which you will paint with a brush,
to be solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after Easter; that Sunday
is to be the Feast of Mercy." (Diary, 49)
"I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep
coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image
with the signature: 'Jesus, I trust in You'" (Diary, 327)
"I desire that the image be publicly honored." (Diary, 414)
"By means of this image, I shall be granting many graces to souls; so
let every soul have access to it." (Diary, 570)
Promises for Praying the Chaplet:
"Oh, what great graces I will grant to souls who say this
Chaplet. Write down these words, my daughter. Speak to the world
about My mercy; let all mankind recognize my unfathomable mercy.
It is a sign for the end times; after it will come the day of justice.
While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fount of my
mercy; let them profit from the blood and water which gushed forth
for them" (Diary, 848) .
"Say unceasingly the Chaplet that I have taught you.
Whoever will recite it, they will receive great mercy at the hour of
death. Priests will recommend it to sinners as their last hope of
salvation. Even if there were a sinner most hardened, if he were to
recite this chaplet only once, he would receive grace from My
infinite mercy" (diary, 687).
The Promise Of The Grace Of Mercy For The Dying:
"It pleases me to grant everything souls ask of me by saying
the chaplet. When hardened sinners say it, I will fill their souls with
peace, and the hour of their death will be a happy one. Write this for
the benefit of distressed souls; when a soul sees and realizes the
gravity of its sins, when the whole abyss of the misery into which it
immersed itself is displayed before its eyes, let it not despair, but
with trust let it throw itself into the arms of My mercy, as a child
- 13 -
into the arms of its beloved mother. Tell them no soul that has
called upon My mercy has been disappointed or brought to shame. I
delight particularly in a soul that has placed its trust in My
goodness. Write that when they say this Chaplet in the presence of
the dying, I will stand between My father and the dying person, not
as the Just Judge but as the Merciful Saviour" (Diary, 1541).
"At the hour of their death, I defend every soul that will say
this Chaplet as I do my own glory. When this Chaplet is said by the
bedside of a dying person, God's anger is placated and His
unfathomable mercy envelops the soul" (Diary, 811)
"I desire that this mercy flow out upon the whole world
through your heart. Let no one who approaches you go away
without that trust in my mercy, which I so ardently desire for souls.
Pray as much as you can for the dying. By your entreaties, obtain for
them trust in my mercy, because they have most need of trust, and
have it the least" (Diary, 1777)
Promises to all the apostles of Divine Mercy:
Souls who spread the honour of My mercy ) shield through their
entire lives as a tender mother her infant (Diary 1075).
All those souls who will glorify My mercy and spread its worship,
encouraging others to trust in My mercy, will not experience terror
at the hour of death. My mercy will shield them in that final battle..."
(Diary 1540)
Promises who those who pray at oclock:
)n this hour ) will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of
Me in virtue of My Passion. Diary
.
In this hour you can obtain everything for yourself and for others
simply by asking; it was the hour of grace for the whole world mercy triumphed over justice(Diary, 1572).
Promises who those who pray the Novena:
By this novena, I will grant every possible grace to souls.(Diary 796)
To priests who proclaim and extol My mercy, I will give wondrous
power; I will anoint their words and touch the hearts of those to
whom they will speak (Diary 1521).
For the sinners:
In short, the main reason that Jesus wanted this Feast to be
established is that He wanted to "throw a lifeline," so to speak, to
- 14 -
souls who are perishing, souls who are drowning in sin and despair.
That lifeline is this Feast, with all the tremendous promises of
graces and benefits which Jesus attached to it. As He said to St.
Faustina, He wanted to make this Feast day a special "refuge and
shelter" for the "consolation" of souls. (Diary 1517), Jesus said: "the
Feast of My Mercy has issued forth from My very depths for the
consolation of the whole world." In short, Jesus gave us this Feast as
both a comfort and a lifeline for souls.
The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy
Communion:
shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment.* [our
emphasis] On that day all the divine floodgates through which
grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even
though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it
of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity.
Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My
most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will I
contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of
Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire
that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter.
Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy.
(Diary 699)
Promises who those who Trust:
The soul that trusts in My mercy is most fortunate, because I myself
take care of it . Diary
The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel
only, and that is - trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will
receive Diary, 5 .
) have opened My (eart as a living fountain of mercy. Let all
souls draw life from it. Let them approach this sea of mercy with
great trust. Sinners will attain justification, and the just will be
strengthened in goodness Diary, 5 .
Tell them no soul that has called upon My mercy has been
disappointed or brought to shame. I delight particularly in a soul
that has placed its trust in My goodness. (Diary 1541)
He who trusts in my Mercy will not perish, for all his affairs
are Mine, and his enemies will be shattered at the base of my
footstool (Diary, 723)

If the soul praying these prayers dies before the entire twelve
years of prayers have been completed, the Lord will accept
them as having been prayed in their entirety, because the
intention of the soul was to complete them as directed. If a day
or a few days are missed due to a valid reason, they can be
made up for later, at the soul's earliest opportunity.

HISTORY:
St. Bridget of Sweden was born June 14, 1303 to Birger
Persson, a governor, judge and wealthy land owner and
Ingeborg Bengtsdotter, a deeply pious woman.
She married Prince Ulf Gudmarsson a noble and
pious man. They had eight children including St. Catherine
of Sweden. When her husband died in 1344 she devoted
herself to religious life.
In 1346 she founded the Order of the Most Holy Savior.
St. Bridget is known for the revelations she received on the
wounds and passion of Jesus, known as the 15 Prayers of
St. Bridget.
She died July 23, 1373 and was canonized on October 7,
1391.
Saint Bridget prayed for a long time to know how
many blows Our Lord suffered during His terrible Passion.
Rewarding her patience, one day He appeared to her and
said:
"I received 5475 blows upon My Body. If you wish to honor
each of them in some way pray the following prayers each
day for a whole year. When the year is over, you will have
honored each one of My Wounds." Our Lord gave many
promises to those who recite these prayers. Many people
have done this and benefited greatly.

take the child and his mother and fly into Egypt: and be
there until I shall tell thee. For it will come to pass that
herod will seek the child to destroy him. Who arose and

CONSIDER THE SHARP SORROW WHICH MARY FELT
WHEN, ST. JOSEPH BEING WARNED BY AN ANGEL, SHE HAD TO
FLEE BY NIGHT IN ORDER TO PRESERVE HER BELOVED CHILD
FROM THE SLAUGHTER DECREED BY HEROD. WHAT ANGUISH
WAS HERS, IN LEAVING JUDEA, LEST SHE SHOULD BE
OVERTAKEN BY THE SOLDIERS OF THE CRUEL KING! HOW
GREAT HER PRIVATIONS IN THAT LONG JOURNEY! WHAT
SUFFERINGS SHE BORE IN THAT LAND OF EXILE, WHAT
SORROW AMID THAT PEOPLE GIVEN TO IDOLATRY! BUT
CONSIDER HOW OFTEN YOU HAVE RENEWED THAT BITTER
GRIEF OF MARY, WHEN YOUR SINS HAVE CAUSED HER SON TO
FLEE FROM YOUR HEART.

Act of Consecration to
The Immaculate Heart of Mary
Virgin of Ftima, Mother of Mercy,
Queen of Heaven and the Earth, refuge of
the sinners, we, adhering to the Marian
Movement, we consecrate ourselves in a
very special way to Your Immaculate
Heart.
With this act of consecration we
want to live with You and through You,
all the commitments imposed in our baptismal
consecration; we commit ourselves to make within us
that inner conversion, so required by the Gospel, that
liberates us from all attachment to ourselves and from
the easy commitments with the world, to be, like You,
always available to make the Will of the Father.
And while we want to entrust you, sweetest and
merciful Mother, our existence and Christian vocation, so
that You do with them as you see fit for your designs of
salvation, at this decisive hour that weighs on the world,
we commit ourselves to live it according to Your desires,
insofar as what it refers to a renewed spirit of prayer and
penance, to the devoted and fervent participation in the
celebration of the Eucharist and to the apostolate, the
daily prayer of the Holy Rosary and to an austere way of
life, according to the Gospel, so that I can be a good
example for all in the observance of the Law of God, in
the exercise of the Christian virtues, especially the virtue
of purity.

SATURDAYS DEVOTION)
2. THE VISITATION
O Immaculate Heart of Mary, in charity you
traveled to assist your cousin Elizabeth, who
was six months with child. You were the first
one to bring the Good News of Jesus to
others. When Elizabeth heard your sweet
voice, she was filled with the Holy Spirit, her baby was
sanctified in her womb, and she called you the most
blessed among women. Teach us dear Mother, to be
charitable to all we meet in our daily lives; to be
patient and kind to everyone without distinction. Make
us love to serve others while we deny ourselves for the
sake of imitating you and Jesus.

THE 15 PROMISES
(GIVEN TO ST. DOMINIC AND
BLESSED ALAN DE LA ROCHE)
Indulgences
from Enchiridion indulgentiarum Recitation of the Marian
Rosary (Rosarii marialis recitatio)
An indulgence is the remission before God of the
temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already
been forgiven, a remission, which one of the faithful,
properly disposed and under certain definite conditions,
can acquire through the Church, which authoritatively
dispenses, applying the treasure of the satisfactions of
Christ and the Saints.
An indulgence is either PLENARY or PARTIAL,
depending upon whether it frees one from the whole or
from a part of the temporal punishment due to sin.
This means that one of the faithful who, with at least a
contrite heart, performs a work enriched with a partial
indulgence, is granted by the power of the Church that
same amount of remission of temporal punishment as he
has already obtained by the work itself. In other words, the
remission is doubled, and that as often as the work
prescribed is performed. A plenary indulgence means a
full remission of temporal punishment, provided that
several other conditions apply, in addition to the work
performed or prayer said.
A plenary indulgence is granted, if the Rosary is recited in
a church or public oratory or in a family group, a religious
Community or pious Association; a partial indulgence is
granted in other circumstances.
"Now the Rosary is a certain formula of prayer,
which is made up of fifteen decades of "Hail Marys" with
an "Our Father" before each decade, and in which the
recitation of each decade is accompanied by pious
meditation on a particular mystery of our Redemption."
(Roman Breviary) The name "Rosary," however, is

PRAYER:
Come, O Spirit of Counsel, help and guide me in all
my ways, that I may always do Thy holy will. Incline my
heart to that which is good; turn it away from all that is
evil, and direct me by the straight path of Thy
commandments to that goal of eternal life for which I
long.
Bend the stubborn heart and will, melt the frozen warm
the chill. Guide the steps that go astray!
THE GIFT OF WISDOM:
Embodying all the other gifts, as charity embraces
all the other virtues, Wisdom is the most perfect of the
gifts. Of wisdom it is written "all good things came to me
with her, and innumerable riches through her hands." It
is the gift of Wisdom that strengthens our faith, fortifies
hope, perfects charity, and promotes the practice of
virtue in the highest degree. Wisdom enlightens the mind
to discern and relish things divine, in the appreciation of
which earthly joys lose their savor, whilst the Cross of
Christ yields a divine sweetness according to the words of
the Saviour: "Take up thy cross and follow me, for my
yoke is sweet and my burden light.
PRAYER:
Come, O Spirit of Wisdom, and reveal to my soul
the mysteries of heavenly things, their exceeding
greatness, power and beauty. Teach me to love them
above and beyond all the passing joys and satisfactions
of earth. Help me to attain them and possess them for 1
