INTRODUCTION

I chose this job because I have


always been interested in the
criminal justice field. Ever
since I want to keep people
safe even if it means putting
myself in danger. Being able to
help and save citizens is what I
always wanted to do. Making
the country safer is a pretty
big goal. I guess watching all
the police shows has had an
impact on my decision too.

DESCRIPTION

Before you become a


Homicide Detective, you start
as a police officer. Then you
gradually move up positions
through the years. When you
become a homicide detective,
you will investigate murders
and try to solve many of the
mysteries surrounding
unexplained deaths. You may
have to collect evidence,
filling out paperwork,

WORKING
CONDITIONS

Detectives work in a variety of


conditions; depending on the duty
of task.
Indoors; police stations
Outdoors
Regular schedules are 9-5 hours.
Overtime is often necessary
Being in law enforcement you will
have to put your life in danger or
get in harms way
There is often a lot of stress
