I taught the band director how to use

excel to create spreadsheets and
databases. We created a student
database with all of their contact
information, uniform information,
and health information that we might
need. I learned that in order to teach
excel, you have to have a lot of
patience. You have to go slow and
you cannot do anything for them.
You can show them where it is but
you have to have them think about
what they are doing and what kind of
function that you need to do what
you want.

2. How did this learning relate to the

knowledge (what must you know),
skills (what must you be able to do)
and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,
enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader?
(Refer to the standards you selected in
Part I. Use the language of the PSC
standards in your answer and reflect
on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
I learned a lot about teaching someone
with technology. It is a lot harder than I
thought it would be. You have to be able
to complete the kill before you try to
teach in most cases. If you do not
already have a good grasp on what you
are doing then you have to be willing to
work with them and be patient while you
both figure things out.
3. Describe how this field experience
impacted school improvement, faculty
development or student learning at
your school. How can the impact be
assessed?
By helping the band directed, she can
help someone else and we can start a
chain reaction. It can be assessed
because my band director can now create
a spreadsheet in excel. I think that this
will helo me help more people. Every
person that I can help, helps me learn
more about how I can be a better
technology coach.
