Are Video Games for Kids Okay?
Some people think that violent video games are bad for kids, but in reality video games
are ok for kids to play.They should be ok for kids to play because it gets kids involved with other
kids. It also establishes teamwork and trust. Lots of kids after school or any other time like to
play video games. Playing video games weather in the real word, like some schools in New
York(St.Anns) or in an online game gets kids mind active.
Some people might say that video games support violence. But really it decreases the
level of violence. Instead of kids/ teens being violent in public or around other people they can
get their anger/ feelings out on the game, where it won't matter.Some people might think that it
then teaches kids that hurting someone wont matter, but really it just shows what would happen
if that act were to happen in real life and what the consequences would be.
Playing violent video games would have an effect on society right? Well it does and
playing violent video games will make society less violent. Steve Levitt thinks that if young
people will just stay at home and play video games that then the people will no longer feel the
need to actually commit crimes. Researchers at the Social Science Research network have
plotted the acts of violent crimes against the sales of big console games on a week by week basis
between 2005 and 2008. The researchers concluded that particularly violent video games, led to
a slight downtick in violence.

Violent crime, particularly among the young, has decreased dramatically since the early
1990s. During the same period of time, video games have steadily increased in popularity and
use, exactly the opposite of what one would expect if there were a causal link. This shows that
even though people sell more video games it would still lead to kids playing them more, leading
to a less violent atmosphere for the young.
Another reason why video games should be supported for the young is because it gets
kids active At St. Anns a private school in Brooklyn Heights, the games lasts two and a half
weeks and is especially ferocious. This gives kids time to get active and be creative. It helps
kids make friends, because they get to meet new people and work with the new people. It also
helps kids with teamwork, because everyone has to work together to accomplish tasks. Video
games also helps kids to be creative because they have to make up their own rules and strategies.
This is why videogames are ok for teens/kids to play, because kids get active, it helps
