RECRUIT, TRAIN and RE-TRAIN

Session Description:

Volunteers can play a critical factor in meeting the global

objectives of the environmental sustainability and climate change.
Participants in this session learn to develop and maintain strong
volunteer and group service programs. Discussion explores the
benefits and challenges of working with volunteers.
The session shall address the need to recruit, train and retrain
volunteers by identifying appropriate applications of a volunteer
program at your site. It shall describe some strategies for
recruiting and maintaining volunteer staff and shall determine
appropriate methods of training and supervising volunteer staff. It
will also address the integration volunteers with paid staff and
discuss different incentives and benefits of volunteers. It shall
also outline techniques that provide involvement, build morale and
promote team building.
The Session shall utilize lecture/discussion but will incorporate
more on simulation and demonstration through different group
dynamics and individual activities that would correspond to the
learning objectives of the session.
