"It is only human supremacy, which is as unacceptable as racism and sexism, that makes
us afraid of being more inclusive."(Ingrid Newkirk) Us as humans always believe that there
needs to be someone one top to give orders or make rules. Through out the century humanity
created roles for the different genders. If you don't follow those roles you are seen as undesirable
or different. Society starts to inforce the roles when kids don't act how they are suppose to act.
They advertise how humans are suppose to be, they brainwash kids to desire to grow up in the
roles they are "suppose" act. When they turn into adults and once they go into the working
industry they will always be reminded that they are different from each other no matter what,
they will never be the same. Throughout the years sexism has not changed and is still happening
as you read this .
Have you ever tried to do something and then someone says you're not a boy don't do that
act like a girl, or don't be like that only girls do that act like a man. Women to be delicate like
flowers, someone who can't defend themselves or speak there mind and needs to follow and
listen to everything her husband tells her to do. Men are taught to be tough as a rock , someone
who needs to be in charge or everything will fall down and someone who can only make the
rules. Traditionally, fathers teach boys how to fix and build things; mothers teach girls how to
cook, sew, and keep house.(Cliffsnotes) Those are the roles society teaches women and men. It
shouldn't matter who does what they should pick to do, it shouldn't be frowned upon if a boy
wants to sew or a girl wants to fix things. "Women must respond quickly to the demands of their
husband." (Ernestine Friedl) Most men use to or still believe that women are suppose to be
commanded. Through out the decades women were always seen as an object that is suppose to
support and keep men happy. Women were taught to stay home and follow what ever their
husband tells them to do to make him happy if you don't then you're a bad wife. I'm the recent

century's woman now try to make their partner happy but do whatever they want no one
commanding anyone. Society lowered the bar dramatically for women compared to men, now
women rapidly went up and now almost equal to men. The roles that genders are suppose to have
are being forced on kids everywhere.
In the youth humanity makes sure they reinforce the gender roles. Even when we are born
they put pink blankets with girls and blue blankets with boys. In ages 4 to 12 kids are separated
to the things they are suppose to like. Girl are suppose to like playing with dolls and with
miniature cooking sets, guys are suppose to play with trucks and trains. At those ages they learn
how they are suppose to act and how if they don't they will seen as different. In schools they also
learn to be sexist and would tease the kids that they think aren't the same as them. "In parts of the
world where women are strongly undervalued, young girls may not be given the same access to
nutrition, healthcare, and education as boys." (Boundless) In parts of the world they rarely let
females become educated and they are thought as useless if they don't do house duties or take
care of the kids. It is important for all genders to go to school so they can be equally educated.
More than a third of girls over the age of seven have been made to feel stupid because of their
gender. (Jane Martinson) People are making kids feel dumb because of their gender and what
they see on the television or books. In most books they are assigned is men being heros and
woman being the one who need to be saved. Aswell on advertising, the majority of females are
only selling sex which makes them become embarrassed. But for males they are usually
advertising them as being the hero or winning in something, making males feel more dominant
and powerful.
In today's Society women are paid less than men. Nearly all women in almost every line
of work are paid less than a man including women who have attended universities and colleges,

obtained advanced degrees and acquired excellent job experience, according to recent research
analyzed by the Association of American University Women ("AAUW") (Hines, Debbie) Even
when women have their degree they still can't get paid like men do. On average, full-time
working women earn just 77 cents for every dollar a man earns. Females shouldn't have to
work as hard n a male and then get paid less. A common job for males is a software developer.
About 89% of males become software developer and 11% female. In an annual pay for software
developer men get paid 4% more than women. Woman should be paid equally to men. ..we
approach Equal Pay Day on April 8, the symbolic day on which a woman must work in 2014 to
catch up to a man's wages earned in 2013, the arguments on the gender pay gap heat up again.
(Hines, Debbie) How long will it take for women and men to have an equal opportunity in
everything, women will one day be equal in the law and society it is already starting.
Society should stop judging and making rules about what people should or shouldn't do.
Humanity can only get stronger when people start to be equal with each other and not reinforce
ideas on how different genders should act. The youth shouldn't be taught that there will always
be roles male and females need to follow. As well as letting hard working women get paid less
from men that are doing the same work as the women do. Sexism can be changed but society
doesn't let to happen, slowly it is changing but for now it is still in this world.
