Field Experience I Keister Elementary, 2 Grade (Fall 2013)


In conjunction with Diversity in the Classroom course. A 10 hour field experience observing and reflecting on the
effects of diversity in the classroom.
Field Experience II Mountain View Elementary, Book Buddies Program, 1st Grade (Spring 2014)
In conjunction with the Early Literacy course. An afterschool program working with an emergent reader to assist
in further literacy development. Experience included writing lesson plans and creating literacy activities.
Field Experience III Ottobine Elementary, 1st Grade (Spring 2013)
In conjunction with Elementary Classroom Management course. A 20 hour field experience observing and
reflecting on classroom management strategies used in the elementary classroom. Assisted with daily class
procedures, taught small groups, and planned and taught a whole class lesson.
Field Experience IV South River Elementary, 1st Grade (Fall 2014)
In conjunction with Curriculum and Instruction for the Elementary Classroom course. A 20 hour field experience
observing, planning, and reflecting on various instruction strategies. Assisted with daily classroom procedures,
taught small groups, planned lessons, and taught and evaluated on a whole group lesson.
Play School Bridgewater College, PreK (Fall 2014)
In conjunction with Child Development course. On campus Pre-school to observe and reflect on child
development and behaviors. Once a week assisted with class procedures and activities, and planned/taught a
lesson.
Practicum in Current Teaching Techniques Beverley Manor Elementary, 4th Grade (January 2015)
A three week long practicum prior to student teaching during which I was required to assist with daily class
procedures, plan lessons, work with small groups, and assist my cooperating teacher in any way possible. I also
was required to teach and be evaluated on two lessons in a whole class setting.
