1. Ashfield & Ashfield East Estate is now in the charge of KKCoCo While KKCoCo cannot
financially assist us, we, as an estate shall benefit in numerous other ways.
2. Tree Giveaway - 20 Trees were received and planted. Two trees were planted to replace the
two mature trees that had died. Massive thanks to everyone who assisted with the planting,
especially Damien Brennan for his assistance and the complimentary use of his digger.
3. Planted replacement hedging between gaps of Ashfield East & Pococke Estate We hope this
will prevent cars from driving over the green between the estates.
4. Street Identification Signage - Mr. Kieran Fitzgerald, Senior Engineer on invitation from the
Committee visited the estate and concluded that the area would benefit from identification
signage. It was agreed that KKCoCo would investigate design and layout of proposal and
discuss with committee.
5. Traffic Surveys in relation to request for Speed Ramps - 7 day 24 hour traffic surveys were
carried out twice by KKCoCo.
Main Entrance Road :
Mean Average Speed 27.3km/hr
85% of traffic travelled at 36km/hr or less
Ashfield East
:
Mean Average Speed 27.3km/hr
85% of traffic travelled at 33.8km/hr or less
The results are lower than the results obtained in other residential areas in the City. Mr Kieran
Fitzgerald, Senior Engineer mentioned that he had recommended to the Elected Members of
Kilkenny Municipal District that funds be allocated towards Traffic Calming Measurers in
residential areas in 2015. He mentioned that the Ashfield Area would be considered in light of
the funds provided.
6.
Road Sweeper Swept estate during the year
Maintenance & Community Text Fee - 118 out of 217 Houses paid the 30 Maintenance Fee. This
amounted to 3530. The Committee sincerely thanked everyone that contributed.
Please note that it is in EVERYONES interests that OUR estate is maintained to its very best. The only way this can be done is
if EVERY HOUSE pays their share of the maintenance contribution. If you are renting and feel that it is not your place to pay,
please pass this information onto your landlord, or text the estates mobile (087 7074671) with your house number and your
landlords name and contact number. A committee member will then contact the landlord.
We would like to thank those that have already paid the 2015 fee. We would like to stress that deadline
for payment is Thursday the 30th April 2015.
