of this open house is to share the vision for redevelopment and gather
your input and support to inform the project planning process. Project
showcase boards have been setup for you to view at your convenience.

North Kelvin Grove Area Redevelopment Plan (ARP)

The North Kelvin Grove ARP was adopted by the City of Calgary in 2012.
Via open houses and other public engagement events, the residents of
Kelvin Grove contributed to the policies in the ARP.
Eight Principles guide the policies in the ARP. These principles have been
refered to in planning and designing the North Kelvin Grove redevelopment
project.
The 8 Guiding Principles of the ARP are:

1
3
5
7

Promote a safe and walkable neighbourhood

Create multi-functional, inviting public open space

Promote a mix of land uses that provide for local needs and local
activities and minimize vehicular trips

Promote sustainable, innovative, adaptive building and site design

2
4
6
8

Promote green, barrier free and accessible neighbourhood design

Ensure a sensitive transition and well designed interface between nonresidential and residential uses and between high and low buildings

Promote multi-model trasnportation modes within the plan area and

among the surrounding communities

Seek opportunities for community building and public-private

partnership
