Essential Question: To what extent has Russia overcome its political, economic, and social history?
Part I: Analyze the extent to which all Russian people enjoy these freedoms today and produce
three different products, one for each freedom you chose (total of 3):
Human Rights (choose 3 different human
rights)

- Right to take Part in Cultural Life
Part II: Analyze the extent to which these topics represent a continuation or change from a previous
Russian era. Respond in an 15-20 sentence paragraph to the question Is Russia truly democratic today
or is it still an authoritarian state? In your response, cite specific present-day and historical
evidence to support your viewpoint.
Part III: Produce a Works Cited that includes a minimum of six reliable sources, formatted in MLA
style.

How will you be Assessed?:
Parts I and II assignment are worth 30 points each, Part III is worth 20 points, the works cited is
worth 10 points (6 source minimum in MLA), and the proper setup of the subpage is worth 10 points -for a total of 130 possible points. The project assignments will be graded on depth, accuracy,
following directions, creativity, appearance, layout, and grammar and mechanics.
