CONCLUSION

Collected data of three specific diseases (Cirrhosis, Ascites, Peptic ulcer disease)
were evaluated for comparison of prescribed and standard therapy, identification and
management of drug related problems. Data revealed that in cirrhosis and ascites
prescribed therapy was similar to standard therapy where as in some peptic ulcer
disease cases dose variation from standard therapy were seen. Major identified DRPs
in these three diseases were cost related problem & problems requiring dose
adjustment in hepatic impairment.
Strategies should be made for the increasing awareness and improved understanding
of the nature of problem & by rectifying the problem, making the interventions &
monitoring of the drug related problems. This can be done by improvement of skills
for DRPs identification and management accordingly.
